About
On the fifth anniversary of their father’s death, the brothers discover a horrific message written in blood across their boarded-up church pulpit: 5 Days. With the town of Skipclaw sealed behind protective walls and humanity no longer the apex predator, Runt must investigate the omen before the fifth day arrives, and choose who to accuse. Will you be able to guess right?
The order of conversations, the questions asked, and the conclusions drawn will all shape the outcome at the end. Over five days, you will investigate every brother and their secrets, build or fracture relationships with masked townsfolk, survive in a world haunted by otherworldly creatures, and decide who is responsible. On the final day, upon choosing a culprit, you’ll see one of over a dozen endings.
To survive, the townspeople must stay in the light, cover their skin, and hide their faces behind masks. Inside the walls, safety is fragile, suspicion is constant, and the Strayer family, architects of the town’s defenses, sit at the center of it all. Dialogue choices build hidden stats that influence how characters respond to you and which clues reveal themselves. The kind of person you become will determine which truths you’re able to uncover, and which ones you’ll never know.
A mature story for both adventure and visual novel fans.
Branching dialogue system where personality traits unlock different paths and clues as you develop relationships with those around you.
Five-day investigation of collecting clues to draw conclusions, culminating in a player-driver accusation.
Micro-games including HOGS (Hidden Object Games), puzzles, and bespoke manual labor vignettes.
A meticulously crafted aesthetic featuring originally captured photographs and hand-painted art.
Highly replayable rural gothic mystery with over a dozen different endings.
A bleak post-apocalyptic setting where darkness is permanent and humanity is, unfortunately, not alone.

I do truely love the story of RUNT. It paints a very bleak and oppressive world in which our main character Runt lives in. Most of the horror of this setting comes not from what goes bump in the night, but the family he has to endure, which is abusive and horribly dysfunctional. Really made me fear for our protagonist and dread every encounter with Runt's brothers. The more you cherish those very few moments of kindness that are given to him. All in all very good writing overall. The big problem however are the mechanics of this game. The minigames thrown in here range from very easy busy work to a broken messes, which sucks especially when some of those have to be made under time preasure. The UI is in dire need of fixing and some of the investigation mechanics definitely need an overhaul or at least better explanation where to click to make up conclusions. Took me a very long time of helplessly clicking around til I finally figured out where to click to combine clues into conclusiones. Even so some of the mechanics aint really that good, I'd still recommend RUNT as a well writen horror experience. The story, atmosphere and art direction is definitely worth it all
Крутая игра, своих денег стоит. Сюжет, атмосфера, персонажи и арты на высоте. Также понравилось музыкальное сопровождение игры (особенно в конце игры). В общем и целом, рекомендую.

Best visual novel I've had the grace of touching. Definetly is now a hyperfixation-- Never had a game make me sob like this before. 11/10
It's really good.
Loving this game so far, still trying to get the other endings.
Story's great and all, but it needs some QOL regarding its replayability, replaying it feels like a drag to go through since you have to play through all the minigames and dreams you already saw it just sucks out all the fun and curiosity I have. Also game's buggy
I had a lot of fun playing Runt. Every character has a lot of depth and personality. There are a LOT of different ways to do a playthrough so you can play it multiple times and learn new stuff. One of my favorite aspects was seeing all the art for the characters and backgrounds. It can get a bit annoying running through dialogue you've already read before in earlier playthroughs, but I think it's worth it to get the whole story. Overall it was fantastic and I'm excited for future projects from Grimtaste!
Fantastic storytelling and character art/design with a really well done whodunnit aspect to it all, but I think making it more clear from the get go that you're meant to play it over multiple times to get the truth instead of gunning for it on your first playthrough would be nice. A minigame touchover would be good too, as especially with Carver, it tends to be frustratingly buggy.
