(ツ)_/¯Ruby Hunter

Unfortunately, there are not infinitely many communities for these "Miner Games". Actually, it is dead, the level contributors did a terrible job, there is no spirit in this game. Perhaps one should prefer Diamond Caves or the universal solution for this type of game: "Rocks n Diamonds jue II". Sorry to say that, but it's a 1% game.
Ruby Hunter is a 2D low poly ripoff of an ancient Commodore 64 game called Boulderdash. It's essentially a block placement/pathing puzzle game where you have two basic interactions with the game grid. You can move onto dirt squares to remove them, and you can push boulders to make them fall. Each level is designed such that you need to collect the right amount of gems to open the exit and leave, without getting trapped, squashed by boulders or killed by various hostiles. On the plus side, a lot of work has taken place to extend the simple original premise of Boulderdash, including acid that destroys things, a variety of different enemy types, different gem types and so on. By surpassing the original game design, this game is a valid entry in the genre instead of just an insincere ripoff. Unfortunately it's the technical delivery that is a let down here. There's no direct option to change the game resolution, it just scales dynamically, which kind of means you're stuck with low poly graphics with no way to improve the visuals in any significant way. This was originally a paid product that the developer changed to being a completely free game. This is noble, but I do feel bad for people who paid for the game. It's difficult to recommend a 2D low poly game to enthusiast PC gamers when games like CS:GO are also completely free.
Edit: Changes to not recommended because my savegame is lost. Steam cloud save is not working 100% correctly apparently. If this gets fixed or you don't mind potentially losing your progress, it's still a recommendation. It's a great value for the content you're getting plus it has a level editor and community features! I found this game because Sapphire Yours was a big part of my childhood. It's basically a modern version of that. Nowadays I probably wouldn't have been interested in it, but I can definitely say it's a fun game because there is so many different types of levels. Fast "action" levels that require quick thinking, slow more puzzle-ish levels and anything in between. Due to all the game's unique mechanics and different objects, there is a giant amount of possibilities when making a level. Oh and there is a ridiculous amount of levels (talking just about the "official" ones, there's probably a ton more on the community level hub), which can take anywhere from a minute to about 10 minutes - and that's just for completing them if you know how to. Figuring out everything will vary depending on the player. Although this game does provide demo replays of how to complete each level, so if you're stuck and frustrated, you can check those. The graphics may not be super sick like some modern AAA titles, but I really like the look, as it still stays true to the games it drew inspiration from. The soundtrack is actually from Sapphire Yours which I personally find super amazing, because of nostalgia. Having leaderboards and community made levels should add even more playtime for those interested in it. The game has not once crashed on me and I can't recall encountering any glitches (I've already played a lot before this was on Steam). It should also be noted that the developer is super cool. I sent him a few emails with suggestions for the game and he's very open for them, having put many of them already into the game. He seems to be really interested in making this a good game, not just a playable one. Most smaller indie games have very limited options, but Ruby Hunter is actually really good in that regard: remappable controls, individually setting volume levels for every object, game and UI scale and probably some more I'm forgetting. My only gripes so far are that 1. due to how the game works, it feels like there is a noticeable input delay, which takes some getting used to (there actually isn't) 2. there is no online multiplayer (for the co-op levels). But since that was never promised and would take a lot of effort, it's not a "real problem". It's more wishful thinking on my end This is one of the few games that still offer demos nowadays, so since you've actually read this review, why don't you just try the demo?
不错的游戏,2000年就开始玩,17年出的续作,十分好玩,有些关卡操作很难,需要练习。 编辑了:因为我的存档又几把丢了。云储存不靠谱 Edit: Changes to not recommended because my savegame is lost. Steam cloud save is not working 100% correctly apparently. If this gets fixed or you don't mind potentially losing your progress, it's still a recommendation.
Madendeki mücevherleri toplamak, deneyene kadar kulağa kolay gelecektir! Oyunun benzersiz mekaniğinin yardımıyla bulmacaları çözün ve çıkışa doğru savaşarak ilerleyin. Dahil edilen düzenleyiciyi kullanarak seviyeleri tasarlayın ve bunları toplulukla paylaşın!
Before I played Ruby Hunter, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Play it before the electric grid goes down for the next decade.
