Developer constantly releases modified templates just to create revenue and could care less about the experience. I wouldn't purchase this game or any of his future games if they were Free To Play. Here's a link to a review on what you will encounter for someone just trying to make a living posting unpolished content where your currency is 12x in his home country, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFXwLxU2kmY
Rotfront is a really fun and cute little shooter. It’s simple in the best way: easy to pick up, fast-paced, and genuinely enjoyable to play. The graphics are beautiful, and the guns feel great to use. I especially loved the weapon animations and the maps! <3 My only real complaint is that the sound design could use a bit more work. The gun sounds and zombie noises don’t feel quite intense enough yet. I’d love for the zombies to sound more horrifying and the weapons to have a bit more punch. 9/10 <3
beautiful graphics only 9 maps a good meat grindy shooter. tasteful weapons, definitely early access lacking any customization but definitely a fun time killer needs more progression or quest styled aspects other than that its fun and clean.
really cool, hopefully it gets more updates after 1.0 release. everything about the game is really good
I've never left a review on a game before but I thought that this had to be the first. First off the game came out on the 22nd of may and I can comfortably say if the developer keeps with this as he's got some seriously good elements and gameplay mechanics/dynamic here. THE GOOD THINGS: The gun play for me is fun, some feel less punchy than others some more than others that's for sure. The pre-set variants are quite diverse for this being V0.1. The gameplay is fun and has a certain basic enjoyable time passing feel to it as its quite easy to just run the 9 missions again and again using different weapons, challenging yourself to do it as quick as possible or simply by just upping the difficulty. Now this being said I see why replay ability can be an issue after a good few hours but again that's only because its V0.1 and quite barebones in some ways. The level system attribute system is a really cool addition to the game that really does impact your gameplay more so the more you spec into certain elements like agility/dexterity for speed and strength for recoil control etc and from what I've tested and seen so far works as intended. The environment is quite cool on some of the maps and fits the apocalyptic esc vibe which is always nice and okay, is there some reused assets evidently used a fair bit? yes, same with the weapons but that I can let slide as its clear the developer actually cares about the game with the effort has put into making newly released unreal engine 5 EARLY ACCESS game that has a solid foundation and tbph... its a single guy thats developed and published this, I get developing takes ALOT of time and effort so i think in cases like this its acceptable when starting out. The money and store system makes the game a it more interesting and gives the player a bit more to work towards but this being said I would defiantly increase the price of some of the guns as some of them are straight busted so I think a more varied pricing of the weapons especially with the sr11 marksman or sr7 for example would help with replay ability and give the player some work to do opposed to run one mission and be able to buy the best you can grab. The little things like lore for the main character and maps is such a nice touch too, this tells me he actually put some thought into the game opposed to just throwing it together. NOW ONTO THE BAD THINGS: Mission objective variety. As it stands you got 2 "mission types", eliminate all the rots, eliminate all the rots and hives... all the second mission type happens to be is the first mission type but with some "hives" jotted around the map so I would like more mission variety, maybe a grab a case of samples and get out etc but it is still vary early days. As touched on previously the weapons are all too similarly priced, I can do 2 runs and buy the two of the best weapons or a best weapon and tier 3 armour, this doesn't really give the player anything to work towards so that's a bit of a problem as I feel I'm not really "griding" for the best stuff I'm just being handed it. The enemy variety is VERY VERY limited but this is to be expected as its early access but I still would've liked to see at least some different skins other than some flipped similar assets. The maps and missions feel far too short and small some with spawns that can lead to instant death if not careful as upon spawning in you can have 4-5 enemies sprinting at you or next to you which can be a bit annoying. No objective indicator... I'm not on about highlighting every single enemy but maybe a "last enemy indicator" could be added as sometimes on the bigger maps even the smaller in all fairness you'll miss one enemy and then spend 5-10mins looking for it which kind of ruins the flow. The weapons... now I previously said the weapons were rather diverse and they defiantly are for how early this game is BUT that being said it does lack individual customisation with some variants having nothing more than a sight and a suppressor thats it, no grips, no flashlights etc etc but you can work with what you got. CONCLUSION: If you've made it this far than thank you for starters but all in all I think that the developer (hopefully you see this) has some good ideas and a VERY VERY solid foundation for a good killing floor esc game that could hold plenty more replay ability in the future once more content is added whether that be missions, weapons, customisation or even a horde mode. I personally don't think I've wasted my money and for the little time I've played I've enjoyed each minute and will probably return to it later or tomorrow if I need a game to sit back and waste some time on whether I'm waiting on mates to hop on or simply just bored. I'm excited to see how the game develops and progresses and I hope the dev keeps updates coming and will be joining the discord if possible. Hopefully this helps some people. Thanks for reading. :)
Not really a game, hardly a demo.
Been on a extraction/survival shooter kick these past few months, and I have to say this game has a heck of alot of potential. Yeah it worries me that its a single dude making it, just because i know how chaotic life is, but by the same notion, its amazing that a game this good came out of that one guys efforts. The gameplay is SOLID, the combat is impactful, the rots are grotesque, its snappy and fast paced and can really feel intense at times. The levels are made for quick, in and out sessions, and there doesn't really feel like there's a grind, and each level is beautiful in its own, macabre way. Negatives are there, the guns dont really feel like they have a progression since you cant see their stats, they dont FEEL(yes FEEL.) very powerful, kinda like youre shooting an airsoft gun at times, the lack of shotguns and melee options is painful when you turn a corner and are faced with a horde, the game play loop is lacking in progressive goals aside from drop in, shoot, get money, leave, buy guns, repeat, I was getting to the point where I could finish a level in under three minutes and ended up with tens of thousands of dollars but never really had a reason to buy ALL the guns. There are a few other issues but they arent important, hell the negatives I listed arent really important because most of it is stuff that will probably be implemented/is a pet peeve, because this is a fantastic shooter. buy it if only to reward an obviously talented artist who deserves it.
Hat-tip to this single developer game: 9 well-designed maps, a variety of weapons, easy-enough progression system, and a Reflex system that adds to 10/10 gore experience. Play the game at the hardest difficulty for some in-your-face-action.
Military themed zombie shooter built in UE5 developed by a solo dev. Gunplay is a lot of fun with some pre built kits and the zombies (rots) are fun to take down so the replayability factor is high. Dev is active on discord for any further discussions <3
Fun but short game. Overall I'd say it was about an hour for me to experience all the maps, nevertheless, I still enjoyed my time with Rotfront. Great graphics, intense atmosphere and interesting designs all round. The dev has confirmed in the discussion FAQ that the price of the game will not change upon full release, so if you want to let this one cook for a while fair enough, though if you're looking for a fun zombie shooter to unwind in the evening then you can't go wrong. Best of luck to the team!, I look forward for the content to come.
