[h1]Short Review[/h1] I bought this game and a bunch of other steam Japanese learning games a while ago due to having moved there for some time for work. I have been mostly using duolingo to learn the language and books. Especially the bird help me keep practicing and learning it. What i want to say is that i both tried learning either hiragana or katakana via either this program or using duolingo. Not surprising the latter just worked way much better. The teaching games itself range from being interestening and nice change of pace towards why does this exist? Hitting the right letter via a fruit ninja style game is a good concept to both learning the reading of the romaji and japanese version of it. Then there are games like memory, or a match 3. The whole games and overlay of the whole program feels like something an IT student would do for a project or grade in a course. Not something to ask money for and try to teach people something. Also there is no cloud so when my Laptop bricked I lost my savedata. With half of the games being rather unhelpful and offers very slow animations I cannot really recommend this much. No way as a standalone reading learning system and not even as a supplement. The only positive i can say is that it helped me to not forget them.

the game has fu as hu which is not only wrong, but teaching people to be wrong. the games aren't really fun nor do they really teach anything. Match 3 game is the worst. its like throwing glitter in the air and trying to match. its a mess. the audio is not standardized which a tad jarring when one letters sound is good and another one was recorded in a tin can with a loud fan in the background.

Leider kann ich dieses "Spiel" nicht empfehlen. Aber auch nur aus dem Grund, dass es etwas kostet. Wäre es kostenlos, würde ich behaupten, dass es ein netter kleiner Einstieg ins Japanisch lernen ist. Aber es gibt da draußen viele kostenlose Hiragana-Lerntools, die besser sind. Ich habe, bevor ich hiermit angefangen habe, bereits mit einer App angefangen Hiragana zu lernen und dachte, dieses Spiel würde mich unterstützen und die Zeichen festigen, aber ich habe nach einiger Zeit gemerkt, dass es keinen Spaß macht und auch nicht viel bringt. Dennoch wollte ich es "durchspielen", um die Errungenschaften zu sammeln. Es ist insgesamt nicht gut umgesetzt, die Qualität (Bild und Ton) ist teilweise sehr schlecht und das Aussehen ist so - sorry - hässlich, dass ich mir denke, jeder, der auch nur einen klitzekleinen Sinn für Ästhetik hat, würde es hübscher gestalten. Die Minispiele wiederholen sich, was an sich nicht schlimm ist, aber sie sind zu kurz gestaltet, sodass die Zeichen nicht hängen bleiben würden, wenn ich sie nicht mit einer anderen App lernen würde. Und obendrein ist die deutsche Übersetzung einfach grauenhaft, da wurde anscheinend Google Translate aus 2005 benutzt und nicht kontrolliert. 💔

Sicher ist dies möglich, aber es ist besser dies nur als ein Lernwerkzeug von vielen anzusehen.

Is this game worth buying? No- but if you want to go ahead uwu <3 If you already know your hiragana, this game is a good way to revise the information you already know. However, I don't believe this game has good learning methods for starters. Since I already know hiragana, the puzzles were engaging and fun, but that was about it. Each puzzle follows the Kana columns (the hiragana chart), which tells you how to enunciate the sounds. Personally, I would stick to Duolingo (and its free) for learning hiragana and katakana if you're looking for online sources. I learned hiragana and katakana through physically writing it on paper (writing and enunciating the characters over and over and over). That is all uwu/)
