A lot less static then other Harvest moon/stardew valley types, feels like the tribe is actually trying to improve/grow without you being the only one doing anything. You are still vital to major discoveries and advancement in a good way however. Lots of plant and animal variety. Wish the boy choices were as good as the variety of girl choices. Still three tribes worth of npcs, and none feel too shallow. very good cozy style game.
I think this game would be nice for a very casual gamer, or someone looking for a light farming sim with some story. Sadly, it's just not deep enough for me, and it's a bit too care-bear like for my tastes. I haven't seen any combat in over 12 hours, though I suppose there might be some rudimentary form of it that I didn't get to yet. The game is quite monotonous, forcing you to run around a lot and check the same areas over and over. I wish there were a middle ground here, because I'm sure some people would like this game. I don't regret buying it, but it's just not for me.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

13 hours in and I have no intent to come back to it. Started promising and there wasn't anything outrageously bad but just, feel like progression is too slow and not meaningful enough already. There is no combat, which doesn't help, since even rudimentary combat helped break things up in Stardew. In this game's version of the mines you go there and hit rocks until your energy is gone. Yay. The taming mechanic and the trapping mechanics are both absoluite snoozefest chores. And so is animal keeping in general. You need multiple tools, the animations take longer than they should, etc. I'm sure there are people who will enjoy this kind of pace for this type of game but not me.
A solid Stardew Valley-like, with a few minor tweaks. Roots of Pacha is a slow paced, cosy farming sim, with the unique twist of being set in the Stone Age. The setting works surprisingly well, and is used in a few interesting ways. (Though I was a bit saddened at the lack of dinosaurs, realism be damned.) The gameplay mostly sticks to the Stardew Valley formula, and it works just as well here. It's got a few unique ideas of its own; nothing too revolutionary, but they generally work decently. Small, incremental improvements, or experimental twists on typical mechanics. I particularly like how a few minor changes to the currency and upgrade systems made the game feel much more community-focused; it really feels like I'm contributing to growing the village. The characters and writing are inoffensive, but all feel a bit bland and smoothed over. Like the devs didn't want to include anything that might not be 100% cosy. Personally I would have liked a few more rough edges, given the setting, but it's hardly a dealbreaker. The only other real negative is that, in comparison to Stardew, there just isn't as much unique content (cutscenes, dialog, sidequests, etc). A bit of an unfair comparison, as Stardew has had 10 more years worth of updates. RoP still has a solid amount of content; just don't expect it to dethrone Stardew just yet.
This game has been perfect for me, I feel like. My playtime for this game is getting close to approaching my playtime for Stardew - and frankly, I already know I'll be playing this more than Stardew. The beginning of the game feels like an actual beginning, settling into a new, unfamiliar land and picking up the ropes are what you can do. The way you progress upgrades and ways to make new items is really nice, and makes you feel like you're really working together with the folks who are sharing the same home as you! I remember being super excited when I learned there was more unlocked after "beating" the main part of the game. This game is just really nice for me, and gives me things I can do at my own pace, and I like that. I will admit, after "beating" the game the first time, the second playthrough was progressed much faster, but only in certain parts; I've been quite happy to take my time otherwise. I've also been pretty happy with the lack of combat in the story; it can add new items to the game, sure, but combat is not really of interest to my in these kinds of games, so I'm grateful that they focused on other aspects of the game. The one time I needed info to help in the game, the community was kind about it, too, and I really appreciated that! I'd wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone looking for a good life sim; this would be #1 for me!
Super fun!!! I'm a farming sim super fan so I have played most of the more well known farming sims out there, but this game has such a unique charm. Taming animals + gathering seeds in the beginning makes exploring the maps super fun and engaging (but the maps are kind of small...until you reach late game and get to the new updated content). The game loop is also surprisingly addicting, you end everyday feeling like you just need one more day to finish something, but it never feels grindy. My favourite aspect is that the entire clan contributes, which is how it should have been done. If you ever feel tired and confused why a silly lil farmer/builder/whatever profession the player has is fixing up everything in the entire community, you wouldn't feel like that in this pachan clan. Also, the clan members recognises how much you have contributed. Additionally, as you progress with a character's story, they may make changes to their routine accordingly. Other characters also make notices of these changes in their dialogues. The characters are overall so well done, you feel like your action really matters, and this world feels super real. I also love how there is no grid restriction for deco placement, and you can paint on so many of the decos! NPCs are also interestingly so smart that they avoid fences etc. so you wouldn't have to worry about them breaking stuff. There are only very few minor points that I do not like (personal preference only, you may see these as plus points): the clans are weird cultural mixes. As stated in the disclaimer, they are of course fictional but you can surmise where the inspo came from, which is kind of weird...but also interesting?...to see how cultures from completely unrelated regions and timelines could come together. Many dishes are also kind of modern. The 1.3 update brings new content that I really liked, but also kind of breaks immersion??
A timetraveler from the future brings domesticated animals and plants??
But then again, we progressed from stone age to bronze age in one year of game time so I can't be too picky about that.
I came for the gorgeous visuals and the allure of a seemingly rich culture to learn about. I came for the magnificent, hand-crafted UI, seemingly crafted with love. It took 5 hours for me to realize that the beautiful exterior has an utter lack of depth. The character writing is bland and uninspired. The gameplay systems are dull and grindy. The progression system holds your hand and leaves nothing to the imagination. It's like sitting down with a good book, but someone spoils each major plot point before you get close to finding it out on your own. I wanted to like this game, because it truly is beautiful. But with the likes of Stardew Valley there for comparison, there is no way I can recommend it.
Me apaixonei pelo jogo!
