About
About ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN
Take control of the protagonist Romeo Stargazer in this third person singleplayer action adventure, split into various chapters. His story is both unpredictable and littered with intense battles, interspersed with side missions to suit the player's pace.
A story that transcends space-time
This game's story starts with space-time itself being shattered by a certain incident. Romeo, too, on the brink of life and death finds himself revived by a new kind of super technology. Thus he is recruited for the FBI's Space-Time Police as a special agent, and wanders the cosmos in search of criminals who've taken advantage of the situation at hand in an attempt to bring justice back to the universe. At the same time, he looks for clues concerning his missing girlfriend Juliet, and quickly comes to find both her disappearance and the destruction of space may be more linked than he thought. Donning the mask called Deadgear, what awaits Romeo at the edges of space-time?
Fight blood with blood
Romeo switches between swords and guns to fight. Wipe out the waves of enemies that stand in your path to give birth to a new kind of bloody action, and take down the fearsome space-time criminals that await. Absorb the blood of your enemies to unleash Romeo's special attack: Bloody Summer, capable of turning any situation around. Romeo's various weapons can be strengthened and altered as the story moves forward as he takes on even stronger enemies.

Another masterpiece from SUDA! This is my fav Suda title yet, I loved this playthrough, it's a masterclass in UI design, peak soundtrack, amazing art style as always, really fun combat/boss/level design (maybe genius tier level design, so many styles of gameplay mashed together seamlessly), great VA work, and a whole jungle ayahuasca trip of a storyline. Excellent writing. Everything in this game is also just so damned beautifully bizarre, I'm beyond happy they chose a new IP and to just go absolutely nuts with Romeo. It's my personal 2026 goty to beat. Orange Chocolate for life baybee. Don't sleep on it.
"Best underrated modern game." I still need to finish the game and review in the works. LMAO last video in the store page is a bit of a give away to what may have been some inspiration. That being to my guess, Rick and Morty. Life and death baby. P.S. very fun but not addicting, I keep coming back but I'm not wasting hours with little to no gain. It's just fun to play. Also I personally enjoy the humor. --- WARNING: Pixel nudity will accrue!!! ---
What a game. SUDA51 and Grasshopper drop one hell of adventure on top of your head again and I had a damn good time. Killer ost as well, I need to find a cd copy for sure. Romeo is a fun game man.
The Vibe is Immaculate, but the Gameplay is Mid. Honestly? Romeo is a Dead Man is a whole-ass mood. Giving it the highest praise possible because it perfectly captures that unhinged, eccentric Suda51 energy. The presentation? Absolute fire. We’re talking a killer comic-book art style, random pixel-art shifts that lowkey go hard, and a Japanese rap soundtrack that is purely absurd in the best way possible. This game isn't trying to be "normal," and we stan the creative audacity. It’s sitting right on the line between "completely unhinged" and "pure genius." It’s an "if you know, you know" type of experience that I truly appreciate. However... the gameplay? It’s giving... repetitive. The longer I played, the more I wished the mechanics actually ate as hard as the visuals did. Imagine if we had a parry system that felt crisp? Or a story structure that wasn't just the same loop over and over? The world is super linear, and it feels like a missed opportunity for something truly legendary. It’s a banger concept that didn’t fully realize its potential. Should you cop it? If you’re looking for a game that’s refreshing, unique, and weirdly camp, it’s a certified must-play. You’ll love this "love across time and space" fever dream. But if you’re a sweat looking for satisfying, high-intensity melee combat? This ain't it, chief.
