About
About ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN
Take control of the protagonist Romeo Stargazer in this third person singleplayer action adventure, split into various chapters. His story is both unpredictable and littered with intense battles, interspersed with side missions to suit the player's pace.
A story that transcends space-time
This game's story starts with space-time itself being shattered by a certain incident. Romeo, too, on the brink of life and death finds himself revived by a new kind of super technology. Thus he is recruited for the FBI's Space-Time Police as a special agent, and wanders the cosmos in search of criminals who've taken advantage of the situation at hand in an attempt to bring justice back to the universe. At the same time, he looks for clues concerning his missing girlfriend Juliet, and quickly comes to find both her disappearance and the destruction of space may be more linked than he thought. Donning the mask called Deadgear, what awaits Romeo at the edges of space-time?
Fight blood with blood
Romeo switches between swords and guns to fight. Wipe out the waves of enemies that stand in your path to give birth to a new kind of bloody action, and take down the fearsome space-time criminals that await. Absorb the blood of your enemies to unleash Romeo's special attack: Bloody Summer, capable of turning any situation around. Romeo's various weapons can be strengthened and altered as the story moves forward as he takes on even stronger enemies.

An interesting mix of themes, and somewhat repetitive but fun combat.

ROMEO IS A JIT MAN
what
Suda51 making yet another one of a kind game. I enjoyed every second of this game with how stylish and unique it is, and my time playing romeo is a deadman was a very memorable experience.
As a big fan of Suda/Grasshopper, and the overwhelming style of their games, I can't help but absolutely love this. This is exactly what I needed after being let down by NMH 3. The style, the soundtrack, the cinematics... Just incredible. The combat remains pretty basic; light attack, strong attack, and skill powers. It is weird that after all this time the gameplay is still pretty much aligned with games 10 years ago. The story isn't that deep, but I adore the premise. With how much I love the game, there's clearly a lack of content. It feels pretty shallow throughout the whole ordeal. You have to really be sold on the style more than anything else. My main beef with the game;

The random dungeon is a cool idea, but it's one level template re-used every time. There's very small differences that can show up in a run, but it's very inconsequential to the reused rooms on every run.
There's 4 melee weapons and 4 guns. There's no reason to use anything other than the defaults. Every weapon has the standard tradeoff with no creativity. Big sword does more damage but swing slower. Machine gun shoots faster but does less damage.
The story mentions time travel, but none of the environments illustrate the concept well enough. There's even a semi-joke about this the characters mention at one point.
The game is pretty short. My playtime to clear was based off of me being bad at this game early, and grinding resources.
What's with the space junk mechanic? It's completely useless. You accumulate space junk so slowly, and all it can be traded in for is upgrade material, which you could get WAY faster by running Palace Athene.
I get why everyone wants to be on Unreal Engine, but there was no playtesting this. Some effects in the game shatter the game performance. What's the deal?
First time playing Suda51 game and wanted in on this wild ride. Having only watched videos of his past game I wanted to try this one. I would say the core hack n slash combat is not tight at all and plays more like a PS3 game, but I didnt come here for that. I came here for the aesthetic and the wild things the game throws at me and I wasnt disappointed. The experience I got I would say was similar to MiSide where things come out from the left field. And the soundtrack is very good, I would recommend that more than the game itself. Overall I am satisfied but it did not left me wanting more. I would recommend for those who are interested when its on discount.
