Rome Reborn: Roman Forum

I also have to agree with some people here. While I am a huge fan of ancient Rome, the problem with this app here is, that the models are not really 3D. They are just flat objects projected onto a 3d sphere. So the distances are right, but there is no real 3d effect. It would be really good to update the app to allow free moving around the roman forum with full 3d objects. Kind of like in Google Earth VR. It's sad, because the premise of the app is really excellent, however, it should be "real" 3d, and not only flat projections. Apart from that, it's a really informative app and a must for every lover of Rome. But until that 3d problem is fixed, I unfortunately cannot fully recommend the app for this price.

The reconstruction is really good, I really like it! But I expect a free fly mode, like the video, unfortunate there isn't... and in my opinion is a "shame". Also there is not the italian language as they says

I was a bit disappointed after I bought this. I am a huge Roman history buff and while I can't visit the Roman Forum as it was nor as it currently is (at least for awhile), I was hoping I would be able to walk around and explore the forum at my leisure with this VR software. Unfortunately what I got was a point to point movement instead of the freedom to walk around that I was hoping for. Hopefully this will eventually be updated to allow that, but I won't be purchasing any more software unless they add that option.

Love this app! I traveled to Rome last summer, but didn't have a guide to help me understand everything I was looking at in terms of the history. This is a great way to get a "fun" history lesson, while exploring some ancient eye candy.

Downloaded both of the Rome Reborn apps recently for use in my class which discusses the use of augmented reality and virtual reality in museums, and so far, it’s been a great tool for both myself, fellow instructors, and students. Looking at the negative reviews, I think perhaps they want more of a game, not a scientific tool. From what I gather, Rome Reborn is a visualization designed to allow users to consider the art, architecture, and history of the city, and teach people about those things. In this capacity, it’s been a great tool for both myself and my students. Moving forward, I would like to encourage the Rome Reborn team to consider adding free-roam, if possible, to allow my students to explore on their own, or the ability to “create your own tour of Rome,” so that they can construct their own presentation within the app. Many thanks to the team that designed this excellent tool.

The reconstruction is beautiful and archaeologically accurate. It is very useful the insertion of human figures that give you an idea of ​​the real size of the buildings. Perhaps it would be good to insert some spots in the panoramas that allow you to navigate directly from one panorama to another without activate the tab with the forum plan. One thing that I find annoying is the fact that every time you enter the visit there the comment voice that starts automatically. I think this introduction should be there only the first time and then the comment should be activated by the user or in other ways.

I am a long-time explorer gamer, and enjoy playing things which both teach me something new, and let me see virtual worlds. Rome Reborn: The Roman Forum is a fantastic place to get lost for a few hours. Highly recommend!

This is such a great app! I really enjoyed exploring ancient Rome, and learning about Roman history.
