If the ugly graphics and antiquated controls are a turn-off to you then this might not be for you, but there's a surprisingly huge amount of depth to this game beyond what a traditional 90s boomer shooter offered. At five dollars, it's like McDonald's grilled chicken mcwrap, both a dollar and pound bargain. If you like games like Void Bastards, I definitely recommend this.
Relaxing game with scaleing difficulty level :) there is always something to unlock or find :)
Schut.

I finally got around to giving it another chance after 12 years and will give this a light recommendation. In many ways they were ahead of the curve for both the revival of boomer shooters and rogue lites. They understood the basics of what made boomer shooters great as well as understood what makes rogue lites great with the upgrade abilities and plenty of unique guns and gadgets to make multiple playthroughs worth it. Although it's been compared to Doom and Quake, I'd say Rogue Shooter is like Marathon meets 90s/00s Chex Quest with rogue elements. Unfortunately, being ahead of the curve means that this is before games like Hades and Dead Cells were able to fine tune the rogue elements. There's a lot of dated things from the mid-2000s games, such as weapons/armor that degrade faster than paper mache or even not having an actual pause button. The biggest offender however, is the level design. Everything revolves around the same tight corridors which is fine in the first few levels but it quickly causes enemies to gang up on you with no space to crowd control like the classic boomer shooters did. tl;dr It's okay. You've got nothing to lose but a few fun hours at the current price point (especially discounted).
I haven't touched this game in years and i still think about the midi soundtrack. if your a fan of the old school ♥♥♥♥, i promise you'll get 5 bucks worth.
Jogo incrível, valeu cada parte do preço (R$ 10,49)!!!!
Guys, for a 1 buck or something its a good deal. Belive me.
Really grating sound design killed my interest in getting very deep into this game.
low frame rate plus fast enemies equals a nightmare. The concept is good and should exist in a different format. The other downside is that the game seems reliant on gathering intel to give permastats so you can stand a chance at higher floors.
+ Interesting weapons + Game mechanics are good + Replayable roguelike - The control really sucks - Concepts are unknown - Bad UI design Verdict: Good game, but control ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up.
