About
Second Stellar is a horde roguelike that focuses on engaging gameplay and buildcrafting. Fight through swaths of enemies and powerful bosses as two characters simultaneously, wielding unique weaponry and discovering potent combinations in pursuit of the galaxy's many secrets.

Cosmic voyages require a powerful arsenal; the Starfarers can draw upon the memories of other worlds in battle, capitalizing on their unique abilities to gain the upper hand in combat.
Unlike other horde roguelikes, weapons have multiple skills and passives, requiring mastery to draw out their potential.
Gameplay consists of two characters per run: each character obtains their own weapon and when leveling up will acquire their own items. In the midst of battle, swap between characters at will to wield their weapons in tandem to dramatic effect.

On your journey, visit varied and novel worlds, from neon skyscrapers to the depths of alien oceans.
At the end of your voyages, contend with powerful elite foes borne from distant memories, each with their own arsenal and battlefield. Utilize the strength you gained through the course of the voyage to best these foes and claim victory.
Upgrade your characters post-Voyage, unlocking their unique skill trees- each character has their own set of abilities to acquire. Change your dash into an invincible blink, summon a mechanical ally to fight foes, amplify the effect of character swapping and more. Discover unlimited combinations of skills, weapons, characters, and items in your quest to chart the cosmos.

Follow the story of Second Stellar as twin Starfarers Asphodene and Eridani venture forth for the many answers they seek. As wielders of the unknown potential of Mnemoria, their journey will provoke conflict and cooperation around every corner. Meet allies, foes, and anyone in between- perhaps even recruiting them to your cause. As a matter of course, you'll need all the help you can acquire to reveal the truth behind the Voyager.

was shocked to see the two faces of my favorite terraria mod on the store page and it became an instant buy. the story so far is really strong, and the gameplay itself holds up. some people have said it feels slow compared to its genre, which is true, but i think it speaks to the game's playstyle being more strategic than others.
Came from terraria mod stayed for the game. Amazing artwork and music as well as a fun fighting mechanic.
tl;dr at the bottom If you've played the Terraria mod "The Stars Above", this is based on that, with a bit of Vampire Survivors/Holocure built-in. It does a pretty good job of being unique and distinguishing itself from other games in the genre (in my opinion), and the art style/sound design/music are all great. The dev is either a solo dev or a small team (the mod this game is based on was made by a solo dev iirc), but that doesn't seem to be impeding anything. I'm a big fan of the game so far and will continue playing it through its development. I was also a big fan of the Terraria mod (which I won't do a run without; it's on the same level of mandatory as Thorium and Calamity are, to me) and that has influenced my opinion, but it is also just genuinely a fun game on its own. While many mechanics and lore elements are either shared or similar between Second Stellar and The Stars Above, Second Stellar's story is its own thing in its own timeline. Playing the Terraria mod is not needed to understand this game, though it might make it more obvious what some things mean. I have seen some negative reviews saying most of the weapons are "bad" or "barely usable" but I've not found this to be the case. There are a couple of weapons that are clearly much stronger than the others, but you don't need to meta-chase other players' builds in order to win runs. Gamesense is, as always, far more important than the actual primary weapon you're using. You're going to struggle a bit trying new weapons on new stages with new enemies until you get used to the flow of it all. The hammer and shield, for instance, was my least favorite weapon the first time I tried it. Now it's my absolute favorite. Big paladin energy. My only complaint of substance in regards to this game is the writing. The same style of speech is used for seemingly everyone, and I would argue it is very unfitting for most of them. Avebury? Great. He's written very well and his way of speaking very much reflects his backstory. The same applies to Garridine. Asphodene and Eridani, in my opinion, should not speak the same way as them due to their backstory being much less fitting. Though, I suppose I can rationalize it in-lore as those two simply mimicing the speech patterns of those around them due to their apparent partial amnesia at the start of the game. If that was the intent, they nailed it. The issues I have with the writing so far are minor, at worst. The rest of the game FAR more than makes up for it, and I greatly look forward to the game's eventual full release. I've already recommended it to a few other friends as well. TL;DR Very fun game for fans of the original Terraria mod who want more Stars Above content. Fun levels, great design all-around, great performance, fun and interesting characters. Definitely recommended. Seriously. It's 5 dollars.
from a beloved terraria mod ( stars and above ) to a game entirely of its own we have second stellar, i have been enjoying the game, the weapon veriety is nice so far i have enjoyed using one last poem, yet there is gravity and beast of no nation ( although all the weapons are fun to use and have different playstyles along with memorys changing how you use them - also regular stage section bosses drop actual augments to change how your weapons themselves work rather then just the numbers and activations of the weapons abilitys). fun gameplay, lovely pixel art, i am also enjoying the story so far which is not a surprise as a i liked the terraria mods story as well. the hard modes ( challange modifiers you can select ) of the worlds are definitly nice as they make the game far more fun , they also provide more memory rewards to augment your stats/gameplay more then the memorys you obtain from upgrading your observitory, dont have much to say about having multiple characters as i have just begun playing so i only have one unlocked though if you go through the story you will unlock them quite quickly by the looks of it. oh and i guess i should mention the game is not finished as of yet, new content is being added and weapons / memorys are getting changed (this game goes with super hexagon for games i can play a short amount of time on and enjoy a lot with that short time) ( i wonder if meridian ripples special has changed due to me progressing or if it was just an update )
A beloved Terraria mod, becomes a standalone roguelike game. Lovely stuffs. It's a little bit confusing at first due to a jumpscare of tutorial text, but with time, you'll get into it. Swapping weapons feels a bit tiring but fun overall, as the weapons has their unique set of moveset, and you can get whopping-ass-OP combination with some trial and errors. The bosses are surprisingly challenging, but not hardcore. Enough to satisfy the casual if I'd say so myself. Story wise uhhh... Haven't had the time to delve deeper yet, but I'm loving the duo since the mod came up, so I can't say much about it. That's pretty much it. The game still in early access so I'm looking forward to whatever they cook in the future.
什么时候和泰拉瑞亚联动
I've only played a little so far, however I thoroughly enjoyed what I experienced! My only critiques are that there are quite a few typos in dialogue that are quite distracting, and while playing, I didn't know what a lot of the effects did until I experimented with them. Very excited to see how the game progresses though, very fun!
I've been a big fan of TheStarsAbove for a long time and I finally took the opportunity to play this standalone title. Not a ton of content right now but I'm a big fan of where the story is going, very promising little game that I will definitely be sinking a lot more hours into over the course of early access.
Second Stellar is the culprit in a brutal cycle. I play Second Stellar, I want more Asphodene and Eridani, I play Terarria's Stars Above mod, I want more, I play Second Stellar, Etc. I blame Pepperlog. They made fantastic characters and an amazing game.
