Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 4 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

64 Games on Steam. None of them receive updates within a few months after release. The 64 games are a mix of what appears to be straight asset flips and games that are based heavily on kits and assets but include attempts at original development. This game seems to be the latter. If Earthbound had it's dialogue and other text written by someone who doesn't write well and the game was developed by someone whose coding skills are lackluster, you'd start to approach a product roughly equivalent to this. There appears to be effort that was put forth to create this game, but the talent isn't there. Persisting until the game is complete in a working condition also doesn't seem to be there. It's only 48 cents as I write this, so buy at your own risk. I personally wouldn't.

Rogue Port - Red Nightmare, while clearly inspired by classics such as EarthBound, does well to hold it's own. The day/night system, dynamic lighting and randomised loot drops help to give Rogue Port it's own identity. The battle system is a classic take on the turn based system you'll remember from early Final Fantasy games, with a few more modern inspirations. Approaching the enemy from behind to get the jump on them for example. The visuals are cutesy and again, hugely EarthBound inspired. The combination of dynamic lighting and a fantastic musical score, does a great job of creating atmosphere, pulling you into the world of Rogue Port. If you grew up with your mind buried deep inside the huge worlds in games like Final Fantasy, Earth Bound and even Chrono Trigger, then Rogue Port is most certainly for you. If not, you might still be surprised. It's awesome to see more indie developers working on retro inspired RPGs. The more the merrier, I say. Go and grab it now.

Rogue Port – Red Nightmare is an unusual and ambitious indie RPG from Volens Nolens Games, one that blends retro aesthetics with survival elements and a chaotic, unpredictable world. At first glance, it resembles a familiar 16-bit era role-playing game, complete with pixelated environments, turn-based combat, and a top-down overworld. But once you begin your journey, it becomes clear that the developer is aiming for something more experimental. The game places you in a collapsing world where strange creatures, undead horrors, mutants, and hostile wildlife roam freely, and your central goal is deeply personal: locate your missing friends, protect your family, and uncover the truth behind the nightmare engulfing your home. This grounding in community and survival gives the game a tone distinct from most retro RPGs, making it feel like a bizarre apocalypse filtered through nostalgic design. Mechanically, Rogue Port stretches beyond typical RPG conventions. A dynamic calendar and day-night system cycles continuously, altering lighting, available events, and even world behavior as time passes. Maps shift from bright afternoons to eerie dusk, giving the impression that the world is living and changing rather than remaining static. You’ll scavenge through trash bins, break into abandoned areas, and uncover secret chests that appear only after you clear enemies from a map—small touches that reinforce the scavenger mentality underlying the adventure. Portals that appear only on specific days add another layer of unpredictability, sometimes opening routes to new zones or rare rewards. These systems collectively attempt to introduce variety and surprise into what otherwise could have been a straightforward retro RPG formula. Combat and exploration maintain the game’s retro RPG foundation. Battles are turn-based, with animated sprites recalling early console classics. Progression involves leveling up, improving equipment, and experimenting with different character classes. Because the developer encourages players to name family members, friends, and even pets as characters in the story, there is an odd feeling of personal investment in protecting your party and pushing deeper into the corrupted world. Yet despite these ideas, the combat lacks the tactical refinement seen in more polished RPGs. Encounters can feel repetitive, balance fluctuates dramatically, and the randomness of item distribution means that luck plays a significant role in survival. Clearing maps to unlock secret chests is satisfying at times, but the repetition becomes noticeable over longer play sessions. One of the game’s most striking qualities is its willingness to lean into oddness. The world has a disjointed, almost dreamlike energy—portals appear without explanation, bizarre enemies occupy mundane spaces, and events unfold with a surreal lack of structure. Some players will find this unpredictability enchanting; others may feel disoriented by the uneven pacing and occasional tonal whiplash. The game does not follow a clean narrative arc so much as it presents a series of strange, loosely connected encounters and challenges. It often succeeds more as a sandbox of weird moments than as a tightly scripted story-driven RPG. Technical execution mirrors the game’s creative ambition: inventive in concept, rough in practice. The world is large, with many maps to explore, but certain areas feel underdeveloped or sparsely populated. Enemy behavior and dialogue vary from entertaining to somewhat awkward. Stamina management, sprinting limitations, and the reliance on randomized loot can occasionally bog down the pacing. The game’s charm rests partly on accepting these rough edges—the sense that you are playing something raw, experimental, and unfiltered. But for players looking for refined systems, strategic depth, or balanced encounters, these same quirks may become sources of frustration. Despite its flaws, Rogue Port – Red Nightmare carries a certain homemade sincerity that some players will find appealing. It is a passion project built around the idea of blending retro RPG traditions with survival tension and a chaotic world structure. When the systems align—when a portal opens unexpectedly, when a rare item drops at the perfect moment, when an enemy encounter turns genuinely tense—the game captures a scrappy sort of magic. There is satisfaction in navigating its unpredictable maps, in uncovering hidden secrets, and in pushing your luck just a bit further each day. Ultimately, Rogue Port – Red Nightmare is not a polished or conventionally balanced RPG. It is a quirky, uneven, sometimes frustrating, but undeniably distinctive experience. It caters best to players who enjoy indie experimentation, retro aesthetics, and unpredictable progression rather than those who expect sleek mechanics or structured storytelling. For the right audience, it offers a surprisingly compelling journey through a world falling apart—an offbeat adventure driven as much by curiosity and improvisation as by traditional RPG goals.
