Rogue Legacy is a genealogical rogue-"LITE" where anyone can be a hero. Each time you die, your child will succeed you. Every child is unique. One child might be colorblind, another might be a dwarf with vertigo. But that's OK, because no one is perfect, and you don't have to be to succeed.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Is fairness fair?
It's a fun game to just hack 'n slash at things. It helps take your mind off the frustrations of the day and it has a challenge to it. I enjoy the game and you should buy it and then try the second edition after you get done with this one.

A fun, approachable game that lets you make it easier on yourself the more you play. It probably took me way more runs and a lot more grinding than someone more seasoned in the 2D platformer/roguelike genres (e.g. when I got the "play for 20 hrs achievement, I saw that less Steam players had gotten that achievement than the "beat the final boss" achievement...yikes). But I'm proud to say got to the end credits. Between the tight gameplay, innovative "legacy" mechanic, tongue-in-cheek tone, and ample replayability, this is well worth $15 at full price. Congrats to the devs on a smash hit, it's well deserved in my humble, 280-deaths opinion.

The game is so addictingly good... Although it's just a platformer, I swear I have never felt that much 'DAFAQ??!?!'-deaths in my life. Not even in Dark Souls. A lot of black humour as well :) absolutely enjoyed. Now for RL2.
After 35 hours of this little game, I finally managed to kill the final boss (A bit of grinding was neccessary, at level 225 I finally had the confidence to challenge the boss) and unlock New Game+ What a pleasure!

It is hard to explain without saying "It's Rogue Legacy." I have bought it four times on different systems and have the Limited Run edition. Just buy it. It is worth every penny.
Honestly, not really a rogue game. Think metroidvania but you die and respawn.
