Rogue Legacy is a genealogical rogue-"LITE" where anyone can be a hero. Each time you die, your child will succeed you. Every child is unique. One child might be colorblind, another might be a dwarf with vertigo. But that's OK, because no one is perfect, and you don't have to be to succeed.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Good Game, don't really recommend it if you don't have controller. Took me 14 hours for the Thanatophobia and 6 hours for the Alexander IV remix boss (with keyboard), ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that was hard. The last boss is very easy in my opinion even for the remix boss; "Herodotus" was way harder in Thanatophobia run.

If Rogue Legacy 2 wasn't such a direct improvement of this game, I'd be coming back to it every couple years. If you haven't played either, play this first, you'll appreciate it much more before the additional quality of life in 2 gets added.
You can see how long I've played this game for, 14+ hours across 2 attempts. I don't think I've really gotten anywhere past purchasing the first 2 or 3 upgrades in either of my runs. I SUCK at this game, and if you suck at games like these then this is the worst possible game for you to touch. I HATE this game and all for one reason. The one feature rogue likes are supposed to have to make your time playing them easier is, in this game, gate kept by skill. Each time you play this game you earn a money to buy upgrade(s). The catch? If you don't earn enough money to buy an upgrade well, too bad, the money is lost. And if you suck as much as I do, then you won't get enough kills to net enough money for your next upgrade. This keeps you perpetually stuck at whatever point of the game you're currently in, for me the very beginning. As such, I cannot, in good conscience recommend this game. If your money carried over between runs then I'd probably have enjoyed this game more, but as it stands it's a crappy game if you suck at it because of one bad choice by the devs. A real shame I say...
boring
Terrible controls. The concept is all right, execution is awful.
