Rogue: Genesia

For the right audience this is a great game. Flashy, and probably one of the best examples of these "vampire survivor" type auto-chess, auto-battlers. Your contributions to the gameplay are limited, you control positioning, that's it. Then things walk toward you. It's entertaining enough as a mindless slog for me when I need to veg out with something where there's next to no fail condition, but if you like games that actually have interactive gameplay this won't be for you. Kickass devs though, they know how to make a great game in their chosen genre, and they're consumer friendly.

I've played this game for a couple of years and it's one of the best in the bullet-heaven genre! The performance of the game has been hit or miss for a while(when too many projectiles are on screen at the same time) but the dev has mitigated it somewhat and now it's much better than it was a year+ ago. Other than that, it's a really good game with a lot of thought put into it.

Rogue: Genesia is a fresh take on the survivors genre. The graphics are pretty original and so are the weapons. Unlike other stylistic offshoots such as Halls of Torment, there is an actual map in the style of Slay The Spire that allows you to select points of interests and to save your game. You're never locked in a 30 minutes session and can pause almost whenever you want! The only things that could change a bit in my opinion are: 1) the inventory. It's cluttered and it's hard to see what is what. 2) At some point, there's only stuff like "10% more shield multiplier" remaining and I don't always understand what upgrades I just picked. It would be also cool to have more skins for Rog, or even other characters!
