when i saw the name ubisoft..i should have known the product would not be good and I was right
I loved to play Rocksmith and it has helped me tremendously develop my guitar playing skills. But Ubisoft is just a bunch of greedy bastards, refusing to develop a better game and denying any kind of "competition".

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 9: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Ubisoft is the worst company that ever existed in the world. I hope they go bankrupt. Taking down slopsmith just because your live service ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a game Rocksmith+ (more like rocksmith minus) didn't work out, nobody plays that piece of garbage. Once again Ubislop kicks it's own comunity in the balls and then procedes to defecate on them. Good job, keep it up, i hope you all end up working at McDonalds.
total rip off because of license issues there is no songs and the customforgesongmanager to import songs will do stupid things frequently
Going after better open source competition is pathetic, get bent ubisoft!
They removed all DLC´s from the game, which means you have no songs when you buy it and can´t buy them on steam either. It´s a great game but Ubisoft made it so you can only play Rocksmith+
I spent 4 hours trying to get this game to work with an audio interface because the official cable is no longer made. I can't even get it to detect a microphone to play it that way let alone my interface. This was an infuriating waste of my time and money. Unless you find that damn cable at a yard sale, don't bother. This is a NIGHTMARE to get working. Update: after hours upon hours of trial and error involving both base game options and modding, I threw in the towel on getting a direct feed to my guitar working in any capacity. After many MORE hours trying to get the game to detect my microphone, I eventually did get that to work. Unfortunately, the game is very much not designed for this, and you can tell. The note detection is decent with a clean tone, but with any amount of effects, it's abysmal. If you want to play anything with heavy distortion this way, be prepared to play it clean and not sound good to your ear at all. Chord detection is basically nonexistent even with the cleanest possible setup. You WILL drop nearly every chord if you play in mic mode, and no amount of tinkering seems to fix this. After a few hours of playing the game like this, I wouldn't recommend this as a way of learning guitar. Credit where it's due: the lessons provided are solid. If you have never touched an instrument before, this will give you the absolute bare basics. Learning techniques is also somewhat well done, especially when the note detection actually works correctly and can hear you performing correctly. This will FORCE you to play cleanly for the game to register, which I think is a good way of reinforcing good technique. So with all that praise, why don't I recommend this to learn? Because sightreading on this game is nigh impossible unless you spend hours getting used to it. People joke all the time that the easiest way to confuse a guitarist is to put sheet music in front of them. We joke, but this is largely true; the vast majority of us cannot sightread. Tablature is more commonly readable and understood by the average player, but even then, most of us do not, and often cannot, sightread at a high level. This game DEMANDS that you have the ability to do this. This is a monumentally difficult skill to acquire, I would imagine even more so for a beginner who needs to look at their hands to see what they're doing. You may get through the first few runs of a practice track just fine, but the game ramps up the complexity far too fast for any newbie to keep up. In all fairness, you can lower the rate at which difficulty increases, but in practice this doesn't help as much as it sounds. Without the ability to sightread (something the vast majority of people, even many established guitarists, cannot do on command), you will still need to study and memorize the notation, learning it note by note until it becomes muscle memory rather than actually paying attention to the screen. I have played guitar for nearly 20 years. I cannot sightread this game without spending hours learning and memorizing its notation format. Is this required to learn the instrument through any other method? For the most part, yes. So at that point, you might as well just be using a different method to learn, because Rocksmith demands an ability that you would need to teach yourself anyway. It's simply not worth the effort when you could put that time and practice into learning tabs or, ideally, actual sheet music. This is a very demanding skill that will not serve much of a purpose to you outside this game--so you might as well learn something more practical instead. Spending 5 hours on Rocksmith teaches me less than I would have learned by myself in 20 minutes with a metronome and some tabs. If you already know a lot of the basic techniques taught through the video lessons, you won't get much value out of this. Trying to learn a song is far easier--and faster--by simply doing it yourself. Does the guidance help? A little. But not enough to be worth the time you would need to put into learning the game's notation--and that's IF you can get past the migraine that is getting it to work at all.
Some might just see it as a game. but its a good practice tool as well and Fun.
One of the most unique games out there. It is half a game and half a gamified learning experience. The best thing about Rocksmith is the ability to mod it or buy your favorite song dlcs and play them whenever you want. It will try and help you play it better along the way. It is a really fun hobby to have. It might even introduce you to the world of music even though you have no background or experience holding any instrument (like me). Simply put: It is the fancy and more accurate version of Guitar Hero lol.
HOWEVER, there are downsides/issues with it:
- The software is old and outdated. There will be lots of issues trying to connect your devices, handle sound input and output and you'll have to buy cables or other hardware to get what you want precisely out of it. - Sound delay makes the game horrible if your output device (Wireless Headset, TV, etc) has delay. - Ubisoft is a money hungry corporate company whose stock value is currently declining. Their ingame monetization systems and practices reflect heavily on their games sadly. - You might generate some bad habits of holding or playing the guitar which might be hard to undo when you learn or know better. For example: My wrists were hurting because I was never taught how to play an electric guitar and many things and terminology made no sense for so long before I actually had any guitar lessons. And bad habits were hard to break for me, personally. So if you actually learn some fundamentals and treat the game as a game and supply it with outsourced lessons/practices whether it is from Youtube or a paid instructor/teacher, you might yield very good results. But keep in mind, it takes lots of time to get where you want, it is somewhat similar to going to gym or brushing your teeth. You don't become a musician over a week or two. It takes discipline. Even with it's flaws, I rate it 9/10 because it is so unique and when it works, it really works.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Ubisoft got rid of majority of the dlcs and game no longer has some great songs available for purchase. Most people, including myself, are kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over by this. And Ubisoft's new Rocksmith+ isn't as good as the Rocksmith 2014 Edition. It also employs subscription system over 1 time purchases and songs on it are horrible compared to Rocksmith 2014's dlc options. So make sure you research and understand it well before you buy/install (wink wink) the game.
your greed and ineptitude know no bounds. you are everything wrong with this world, ubisoft
