Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Is this the worst free game on Steam VR? No, but it's definitely in the top 10 for a game that works as intended. I mean the good news here is that the game ran smoothly and, as far as I know, did not install any malware on my computer. There is no DLC or pay to win. So that's all lovely. This is just a free game from the generosity of the dev's heart. It's just too bad that game development is not their forte. This is like a high school project that was released on Steam by that kid that sits in the corner and never talks, the one that usually gets Cs. You know what I'm talking about. And this person made this game the night before it was due. I'm just giving the benefit of the doubt here to the dev. Either that or they are a psychopath just bent on developing really bad games and laughing their as* off at the suckers who download it. But you don't have to take my word for it. You can download it yourself and see. I tapped out after 5 minutes. Rate 2.5/10.

Rocket Swords 10 из 10
Rocket Swords is a free VR game. It worked on my HTC Vive, Quest 3 via Steam Link, and Index system, looked ok, sounded ok, played ok. You lunge at where your hands are pointing when you pull the trigger, if you have a weapon, you go farther and faster. If you fly into a clown with your weapon, you kill it. If you don't pick a weapon, you have fists with a short lunge. The dev calls the player a "Dum Dum" in the instructions. I didn't see the hoops that you could be flying through. I did not get motion sick playing this for five minutes so that was a plus. The graphics are trippy, hard to describe. There is a lot of rolling objects on ground while playing. You have a count of how many clowns you kill and hoops you hit. The game restarts automatically, after the end scoring. I think the game ran smoothly and, as far as I know, did not install any malware on my computer. Has a wall around the map that says Turn around. You can run into big stuff on the map and get stopped. If you run into clown fire, you get hurt, 3 hurts end the game. This is a short game. Yeah, this looks like a one man's coding college project thrown together quickly, and i guess they didn't care about the grade. Try this game for a quick laugh then delete.
Rocket Swords is possibly the best game ever made. Great value for the free price and I love the swords liquid distortion field fx. 5/5
Какая-то наркомания созданная в виртуальной реальности. По разноцветному подобия космоса с многочисленными бессвязными текстурками, летаем и убиваем куриц-клоунов... "Rocket Swords" is a woefully bad and apparently incomplete VR tech demo and wow, those screenshots don't lie, this game is ugly. What do you do in the game? The idea is that you just "fly" around and swing around various objects by waving your hands around... and not much else. Once more raising that tremendous and important question... "What's the point?" The graphics aren't great... that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
