I give this gem of a flat-screen port 4 out of 5 stars. Flat2VR studios has clearly hit their stride and is knocking another one out of the park here. Everything that made the original game kick ass is present and sharper than ever. Controls are intuitive and work well. Movement and shooting mechanics are extremely tight with no real motion sickness which frankly surprised me considering the speed of the overall gameplay loop. I only hesitate to give them that last star because I know they aren't done with all the awesome (new) stuff they're adding to the game yet. I did have issues with grabbing points on certain large two handed weapons that I'm sure will be worked out soon. I absolutely loved dual-wielding in VR compared to both weapons being fixed in the flat version. Throwing weapons were also pretty fun to use. There was an excellent mix of everything that made the original game good and new ideas that explore and utilize the different ways VR can change the interactions already present in a well polished pre-existing flat-screen game. This should be the gold standard for flatscreen VR ports moving forward.
game is SO GOOD! i would highly recommend! even if you haven't played the OG, its still quite fun. keeps me hooked for hours lol. the only critique i have would be button mapping, i have no problem, but it seems to discourage people from playing, all i suggest would be configurable controls. overall 9/10! (+9 is for gameplay, bosses, variation between runs, those weird purple puzzles (which i adore), weapon design, music, and enemy design and creativity, -1 is the missing features, like button mapping

roboquest but its vr its lowkey tough tho
Like playing borderland in VR. Like the feel in VD with the quest 3 works like a charm, would have wanted the native port but its not available yet which is weird
Must have for VR players. The flatscreen version is also great, but VR takes it to the next level. There are a lot of weapons to find, scopes implementation (sniper rifles) is one of the best from all the VR titles I played, there are some fun weapons like boomerang, granades or mine gun in addition to a lot of guns with manual reloading (although you can switch it to one button reload in the options if you don't want to bother with it). The game is fast paced - you need to move a lot to avoid bullets and collect health orbs from defeated enemies. There are multiple difficulty levels, so you can play on easy if you struggle, but some boss fights are still pretty difficult, as you need to quickly avoid boss attacks by jumping, running around, and sometimes even slide on rails around the map. There's a lot of replayability, as by playing you collect wrenches, which you can use to unlock upgrades. There are also multiple classes to unlock by performing specific tasks. It's really fun, better than i expected after trying the flatscreen version. It somehow works way better in VR, way more engaging - the weapons are more fun to use this way.
Roboquest VR takes a game that was already a blast on flatscreen and turns it into an absolute VR beast—and Flat2VR nailed the conversion. If you loved the original, you’ll love this even more in VR. If you’re new to the game? Even better—this might just become your new obsession. The pace is insanely fast, the gun variety is ridiculous, and the cel-shaded art style looks fantastic in VR. Plus, the fact that they’re adding multiplayer? Game-changer. Flat2VR has a real talent for taking solid games and making them even better in VR, and Roboquest proves it once again. If you’re into high-energy shooters with VR polish, this is a must-play. It’s fun, it’s flashy, and it’s got that addictive loop that keeps you coming back for more. 10/10—would blast robots again. 🚀💥
Roboquest is a good time! Flat2VR Studios know what they're doing, resulting in a game that feels like native VR rather than a conversion of a flatscreen game. The game has a lovely cell-shaded sort of colourful artstyle that I think I lot of people will enjoy, and it performed well on my rig (rtx 5060 laptop). Movement feels smooth with slide, double jump, and rail grinding. Even with all of that traversal, I never felt a moment of motion sickness! There's also a wide variety of fun weapons and pickups, and there are multiple classes. I did get the game for free as I'm a playtester and was testing the game, but I think there's a lot here to reccomend for anyone who thinks they might be interested!
Roboquest VR is a really fun vr game In roboquest you play as a robot fighting other robots using roguelike mechanics and randomisation to help you along the way. There's plenty of weapons and builds around them you can use and plan around in order to help you reach the end of the levels. the guns feel good to use and you get the option for manual reloading if you want but if your new to the game I would either recommend getting good with them or just use auto reload if you just can't get them right or quick enough. The upgrades/progression will help you get much further into levels and also adds good reason to return to the game so you can unlock all of the personal upgrades. The game has a good ui that doesn't distract or get in the way, this is a very fast pasted game where you need to be constantly moving to not die so you'll need to keep an eye out so you can dodge enemy fire. I wouldn't exactly recommended this to brand new vr users but I'd definitely recommend it for when there more adjusted to vr Over all I was very pleased with this game and other than a few minor visual bugs that can be easily fixed in later updates I'm sure it'll be a fun game you can play for hours. Highly recommended
