Experienced on Windows Mixed Reality
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/c3r18ONKwi4 RoboDo VR is a singleplayer and multiplayer puzzle climbing platforming game, that is more focused on the platforming in the latter half of the game. I was unable to test out multiplayer, but I will say, per the developer, the MP levels are different than the SP levels. I think the game was going for a Portal 2 type of game, but obviously, this isn't Portal 2, and it doesn't have to be at that level (or close to it) to still be recommendable. I did enjoy this game. However, I will caution anybody with an Oculus Quest 2 to not buy this game until the game is updated to work properly. I experienced many bugs on the Oculus Quest 2 using the Oculus link cable. Once I moved to Windows Mixed Reality, this game was much more pleasant to play, although there still were some minor bugs and the game overall could use more polish. The game is fun with the mix of puzzles and platforming. The game level design is nice. It starts out easy in the early levels, introducing new concepts in each chapter, but soon gets much more challenging in the later levels. There are currently 21 total levels. It took me over 4 hours to complete the game, however, that was with dealing with the bugs. I would estimate it would take most people 3 hours to complete the game currently. The developer does plan on adding a new chapter and I believe it will feature a new shooting mechanic (deduced by looking at the achievements). You do have full locomotion and snap turning. There are also several graphical settings, however, it seems the game does not save your preferred settings. The game was running fine on my RTX 3080 I was getting a steady 90 fps on WMR. My motion controller "hands" would disappear sometimes. The developer is aware of all the bugs I experienced and has posted that he is working on a major update that will be released soon that hopefully fixes these issues. The visuals and sounds aren't great. While I liked the game level design (although it could use a better mix of puzzles thrown in the later levels), the visual variety needs some work. It's just a bland looking game overall. Also, the game is a bit too dark and I had trouble seeing switches with how dark it is in certain areas. The UI especially is pretty bad in this game. The game is running on the Unreal Engine. While I did have fun playing this game, it was also very frustrating playing it initially on the Oculus Quest 2. I had to give up, but luckily it was a different experience on WMR. Still, this game could use a lot of polish. I think the climbing mechanic and jumping could use some work, as currently it can be a bit frustrating. I've seen better climbing mechanics in other game, this one just isn't as polished currently and there's too much trial and error involved in solving the "puzzles." Hopefully, the upcoming update fixes the issues I experienced. Anyways, I have to rate the game I played, and as is, I give the score below. Loved sci-fi environment, puzzles are fun and challenging in different ways then most puzzle games, played only singleplayer, because I have no friends
This is a very fun and enjoyable game. After I beat the first solo map my friend also bought the game and we are having tons of fun in multi-player right now. We had some pretty hilarious in-game moments so I would surely recommend buying this if you are looking for something different and exciting to play with your friend.
I was waiting a long time for this type of VR game. First impression was good. However along the gameplay I found bugs that really bothered me. So I'm still torn about how I feel about this game. I'll keep the game in my library for now to see if developers will be active and fix it because it actually could be a great title on a VR platform.
Don't buy this game. It doesn't work for the Index. It's so buggy you can't even get past the tutorial. I'm stuck with this game and can't get a refund because I waited more than 2 weeks to see if they would release an update to fix the issues. I believe this is a scam of a game.
The price-quality ratio is really good - sounds, graphics, levels design are excellent. Haven't encountered any lagg or other issues while enjoying the game. Content is interesting, especially when playing in multiplayer mode.
