The game looks very nice and I really want to like it but it is just impossibly hard. Maybe I am just terrible but I have been playing these types of games for over 20 years without this much trouble. barley can defeat the first 10 enemies. Finishing the first level will never happen as i always get destroyed.
I've only played this for a short time but I had fun whilst I did. Decent gameplay and graphics. It's definitely worth a try if you can get it on sale.
This game is NOT worth the money. I've been a huge fan of beat-em-ups for years. If you too are a genre fan and are fairly tolerant of games' shortcomings, I strongly urge you to avoid this title regardless! Road Fist is an unlikely attempt to combine the traditional arcade beat-em-up with contemporary 3rd-person melee-combat action games, namely Dark Souls. The concessions to the latter really increase the difficulty. You have to beat each level one one life, with no health items (at least that I saw), and restart the level when you die. A stamina bar a la Dark Souls decreases each time you attack and slowly regenerates. leaving you unable to attack if it runs out. The only controls are punch, kick, block, and dodge/roll. That's right, no running attacks, no jump button. The control scheme really ruins the game. The graphics are fully 3D, and the perspective is level compared to the more elevated perspective of the traditional beat-em-ups. Unlike such fully 3D beat-em-ups as Fighting Force, The Bouncer, or The Rage, the camera is basically fixed and only moves left or right. The controls are absolute rather than relative (i.e. if you push down, your character turns and then runs down no matter which way they were facing). Enemies, however, can attack you not just along the x-axis but from 360 degrees. This gameplay, control scheme, and camera angle do not work well, and the enemies have very precise hitboxes. They can shift position slightly out of your barrage of punches, which demands a fine-tuned adjustment once you notice they're just slightly out of your line of fire. A fine-tuned adjustment, easy with relative controls, is all but mpossible with this type of absolute ones; your character cannot turn in place. Enemies can, but not you. And there's no reason for this. Say you're facing right and press left. Your character will start to turn around, then begin to run up or down in a sweeping semicircle covering more than half of the vertical space until they're running left. Maybe it's better with a gamepad. The developer has a small note in the features list (and on the options screen) that a gamepad is "recommended." If the gamepad would make the difference, they should list "bloody nigh impossible without a gamepad" as a feature! I've attempted the first level two dozen times and have only once managed to get past the first five enemies. Not only do you have a single life, but these mooks will drain your life bar as quick as a boss in Final Fight boss if you're not playing it so defensive as to make the game feel like a different genre entirely. There's no reason for the game to be like this. It's as though the developer hardly did any beta testing and was so desperate to add a twist to an established formula that they stripped it of what made the formula fun in the first place. Man, and I really wanted to like it! The graphics are pretty good, and the game could have had potential. I try to see the good in these in indie game but can't wrap my head around these design choices. Some beat-em-ups from the golden age and mid 90s admittedly had unfair difficulty/bosses and cheap deaths. Play Road Fist (at least with keyboard and mouse controls), and suddenly Battletoads Arcade seems fair and indulgent. No exaggeration: the melee controls for the original Alone in the Dark felt more userfriendly! Even if you like this type of game and are more skilled gamer than myself, don't be fooled by that fun-looking gameplay video. You'll be disappointed. Also, sometimes the game will freeze on the main menu, meaning you'll have to go switch to Task Manager to close it.
controller & game basically does not work hopefully refund does
The story of *Road Fist* is straightforward: Volcan, a drug smuggler, and his six lieutenants run a corrupted city. You play as either Aris, who wants to become the best fighter, or Kyra, who seeks revenge. Together, they aim to take Volcan down.
GOOD

Classic Beat ’em Up Setup It sticks to the formula of the genre: go right, fight enemies, repeat. If you like old-school brawlers, this at least scratches that itch.
Storyline Inclusion The dev actually listened to feedback and implemented story lore from the old Greenlight pitch into the game. That effort deserves some respect, even if the final product isn’t great.
Unlocks and Replayability You can unlock two alternate costumes, and every level is available from the start. For completionists or casual players, that makes jumping back in a bit easier.

BAD

Terrible Controls The default button layout is flat-out awful. Punch is A, kick is X, roll is B, and block is LB. Combos are shallow, limited to just three punches and three kicks—no flash, no variety, no depth. Worst of all, the game has no special moves whatsoever.
Sloppy Gameplay Design It’s clear nobody properly playtested this. The “pause” function doesn’t actually pause the game—your character can still die in the background while you’re in the menu. Boss fights are broken and poorly balanced—it’s common to nearly beat one, only for them to pull a cheap comeback and kill you, forcing you to restart the entire level. Frustrating doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Abandoned Development The developer effectively abandoned the project, leaving bugs and obvious issues unfixed. Instead of improving *Road Fist*, they moved on to a new project, leaving players stuck with a broken and unfinished game.

Final Thoughts
I went into *Road Fist* really trying to like it. I even offered feedback to the dev to help make it better. But at the end of the day, this is the definition of a “microwave game”—thrown together quickly, without polish, depth, or care. It feels like one of those “I’ll make a beat ’em up, it’ll be easy” projects, only to leave behind an unbalanced, poorly designed mess. Not only does *Road Fist* fail as a beat ’em up, it breaks basic rules of competent game design. I’m done. I’ll never play this again.
This game has great graphics and reminds me of Streets of Rage. However, the actual gameplay is more like the 80s Nintendo game Kung Fu with simple punch and kick even down to the Menace Laugh when you lose. Unlike Streets of Rage and other popular Beat 'em ups this only has one life meter with no power ups like a game with a survival mode. There is not much in the way of blocking or countering the enemy attacks. So I wasn't able to make it further than 3 or 4 goons before I lost my life and got the Boss Laugh. Then it is start all over. Pretty frustrating. Then when I pressed Esc and got the Exit Menu, I wasn't able to choose a selection so I had to ctrl alt del to force close the program. I do not recommend the hassle of this game and the feeling of lost promise.
