Cool experience and relaxing BUT - I have to add + 0.65 meters to play space in advanced VR tools to get to boat level - Audio cut out completely later on in ride Would recommend if it were not for these issues
Absolutely love the idea of this. Playing games is my main reason for VR, but who doesn't want to relax and float down a river? As a first iteration this is quite good. However a few issues really need to be addressed. Firstly, the river is far too clear. The kayak feels too much that its floating on air. Also sometimes it's difficult to see the boundary between the river and the river bank. Second, there is practically no motion or disturbance on the water. Also no ripples around rocks or river bank. I appreciate this is a time consuming feature but is also a key feature for immersion. Next, we really need the kayak to bob up and down and even to sway slightly. Again, these are things our minds expect to experience and without them the experience becomes a little jarring. Speaking of which, the turns on the kayak are very severe a lot of the time. I hate to be too critical because I want so much for this experience to work and I appreciate the efforts of the developer. But please, we need the river to have life (even as a placid river!). I won't look for a refund or anything like that, because I want to see this work develop and become something special. Best wishes to the developer. I recommend this more for the potential rather than the current version.

Peaceful kayak ride through the forest, love the idea of this. Also great for showing people with little experience in VR as there's no complicated controls to learn in order to play it. (Showed this to my grandmother and she absolutely loved it and wanted another go!)
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/diBsLuV9DPQ I got this on sale for $1.99 USD during the Steam Summer Sale 2019. It's a very tough call for me on whether to recommend it or not. I think if this were free or priced at .99 cents, I could recommend it, but at the normal price it's just too much for the quality of this game. Unfortunately, this game is at best .99 cents mobile VR quality. The graphics are just subpar. The physics are subpar. It feels like you're floating above the air rather than actually riding on a kayak down a river. The water looks like some shiny gelatinous grey glob versus water. A lot of the 3D assets look like they are from the asset store and are just repeated a lot throughout, especially that dang fern. It's also just too dark at night. Whole thing lasted about 10 minutes at the highest speed setting for the kayak. Did I mention everything is gaze navigation? At least you can set the speed of the kayak because it is way too slow by default. Rate 4.5/10. The Grand Canyon VR Experienc is a much better version of this and it's also cheaper normal price!
Have just come off riding this and though I like the concept (reminded of the bethesda's obilvion is rendering) there is a lot of stuff not right . con - I was able to at the start of the simulation to set the boats speed. I picked real slow, but found after 10 minutes I wanted to play with the speed and could not get the "cans" to high light again so speed was real slow all the way through. - I was also positioned 1 metre above the boat. Is this where i am suppose to be ? - If there is no waterfall or birds there is no other sound I could hear. So you got patches of silence. - Some bolders did not seem complete. The big stone arch, had pieces missing so you could see though places. Parts of the rock were stuck in a tree - Leaves falling fell right through the water and dissapeared below ground. Very weird looking - After the stone arch there were multiple ferns stuck in the trees for some reason - The dappling light from the sun through the trees was irritating, and strobe like when you were boating right into it. don't know if this would trigger anyone to have a fit. - Mist on the first waterfall was wonky and moved as one piece and not at all realistic Pro - Ignoring all of the above it was a nice ride. - The mist feature apart from the 1st waterfall looked great _ The sun when it hit the water also looked great - The end with all the flowers looked nice - Liked that the trees moved and they looked fine - The water and rocks looked great Would like to see fish, and have a background water sound for the stream, maybe option for light music ....
It is a very good river sceneries. Every elements in this game is very well design. If you like to meditate while someone is rowing the kayak for you then this is the perfect meditation. For people who would like to have more then I would suggest to send feedback to this designer. When you get to the end of this tour there is no way to either reverse course of to have a loop. Second thing that would be great is to be able to row your rowing machine link/sync with this VR. Has time goes may be the designer could have more different river sceneries. UNtil later enjoy.
Leider auch nicht zu empfehlen wenn es umsonst wäre. Furchtbare Grafik, merkwürdige unpassende Sound-Effekte. Mit relaxen hat das absolut nichts zu tun. Not bad? Firstly, I had the same issue with this I had with the The Grand Canyon VR Experience. A wavy bar that would appear at the very right edge of both lenses, sometimes the bottom, and it only appears in those two apps and only when I was looking at the water. Maybe it's my headset itself, but it doesn't appear in other watery settings. It feels like lens bleed and looks like the water effect bleeds over the edge of the lens if that makes sense. That said, it's OK for the sale price. I felt too high off the water and the night mode is way too dark as a previous reviewer said. You can set your speed, and it takes roughly half an hour on the preset speed to do both courses. It's pretty enough in some places, but not as polished as the above mentioned experience. It does strobe a bit, and some of the effects are pretty, but until that strange lens bleed I got would be fixed I don't think I'll use it too often. Still I'll give it a pass as no other reviewer had the same issue.
The quality is very poor. Possibly it's worth the money on sale, but I would suggest you save up your money for something more impressive. Ambient sounds are sparse. Graphic quality is super low. What bothered me the most was bizarre things in the world: poplar trees a metre across, a glossy wet rock surrounded by dry rocks, big trees growing out of solid rock, waterfalls with no splash or foam, water sections joined with visible seams, blocky objects, a single burned tree trunk, and some things we just can't identify. I wasn't relaxed. I was looking around wondering 'why?' and thinking how much it looked like a bunch of Skyrim assets tossed together.
