this is the greatest platform fighting game of all time
The game is great! until you try to play online... where players there are way too good for even intermediate players i tried to play ranked for a bit and i got wrecked by a good Fleet player like twice, got crouch-cancelled to hell and back, i couldn't fight back at all I get the need to keep players coming back these days, but the character exp system felt miserable too, especially with online being seemingly the highest exp source, and said online being... yeah maybe i'll give it another chance again if they do something about that "floorhugging".

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 6.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

my wife left me cause im not a stango fan
This is one of, if not the, greatest platform fighter on the market right now. The game controls like butter, characters are expressive and full of life, the music is fantastic, and the art is gorgeous. The fact that an indie studio can make a game with the polish of a AAA title is genuinely inspiring. The competitive scene for this game is thriving, with more and more exciting events at each tournament. Characters are thoughtfully designed and allow for so much player expression and creativity. The team at Aether Studios should be very proud of what they made. Don't expect to be good at this game immediately, even if you've played Smash for many hours. But if you've played other fighting games, you've probably already developed a method for learning a new game's mechanics and easing yourself into it. If it's your first platform fighter, you may get trounced in ranked but don't worry. Ask questions, find people your skill level, and engage with the great community that has formed around this game. All new characters are completely free. Cosmetics are generously priced and there are tons of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to unlock just by playing. The casual stages and items are a blast too. Doubles is a ton of fun. Rivals 2 is an amazing package and is well worth checking out.
Bad game, bad community, do not play. The whole game is to reward stupid people for being stupid by giving the easiest characters insanely braindead options and making the basic counterplay require 100 hours of execution practice - basically, you have to waste a bunch of your life just to reach the skill floor for even beginning to apply intelligent gameplay, and then the game's just a worse Melee anyway since you're just going to be playing Fox vs. Marth the whole time in this game too. It's a dumb game made to reward dumb people and the dev team has absolutely no understanding of game design - or maybe they're intentionally creating a game for stupid people, in which case they're geniuses. I dunno.
Still a horrible game released in a buggy unfinished state and never got fixed
This game is terrible, and it's broken in every way. The characters especially. It's all about who can cheese the opponent more. Every game is a race to the bottom with cheese, and it's a Mickey Mouse-ass game where all you need is a read, leading to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games where you die off a single read. Also, approaching isn't a thing thanks to the lack of a Z-cancel, so you're going to have a lot of fun if you like dash dancing and barely staying out of your opponent's range. Also most of these characters are just rivals 1 characters and it feels like it becuse almost nobody feels like theyre in the right game. So you're better off just playing SSBM. It's free, and you can at least find a game.
I'm sure people find it fun and, when it's truly in a completed state, I'm sure I will too. But not in its current state. It feels weirdly sluggish for a supposedly fast fighting game, the bots somehow became even more annoying to fight against than the first game and obviously, the main draw of the game, the workshop characters are behind a workshop beta which is incredibly janky to say the least. And if you like waiting around 5-10 minutes for a fighting game to start up, then this game is for you. Otherwise I recommend you put your money and time elsewhere. I'll wait for it to be fully realized before I spend money on it again, but for now, it's not worth the price tag it comes with.
all the negitive reviews are right, rivals one is better in every way.
Spaßiges Spiel mit coolen Charakteren aber schade dass Georg nicht beim ersten Schnitzery treffen dabei war
