Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

My 2P controls didn't work because I smoked too much weed, so I complained on the Steam forums, next day Developer RJ updated the game so it works and somehow all my brain cells are functioning 100% again too 🤓. Truly a legendary developer! 10/10 I bought this game at full price, not only is it amazing and so very worth $15 but I'm not even dumb anymore which is a huge bonus
The idea of a PvP shoot-'em-up is such a bizarre concept on paper that I could never imagine it actually working in execution; however, Rival Megagun has proved me wrong. The ability to send enemies for your opponents to deal with or attack them directly with your own weapons make for some interesting mindgames, and having a boss ship unique to your character is not only super creative, but incredibly fun to use and fight. While the game as a whole is a bit rough around the edges, it's still unique and memorable enough for me to recommend to anyone either new to or familiar with the genre.

a wonderfully delightful shmup, very beginner friendly but has so much depth and lots of customizability !! tons of replay value in trying to beat arcade mode in 1CC with each character on each difficulty. highly recommend.
Rival Megagun is a bold attempt to evolve the traditional shoot ’em up by reframing it as a direct competition rather than a solitary test of endurance and reflexes. Developed by RJ Arcade and published by KOMODO, the game places two players side by side on a vertically split screen, each fighting through their own waves of enemies while simultaneously influencing the chaos unfolding on the other half. This simple but clever setup fundamentally changes how the genre feels, turning what is usually a personal battle against patterns and precision into a psychological duel where awareness of your opponent is just as important as dodging bullets. The core shooting mechanics are immediately familiar to fans of classic arcade shmups, with tight controls, fast movement, and dense projectile patterns that demand constant attention. However, Rival Megagun layers an aggressive risk-reward system on top of this foundation. As you destroy enemies and maintain your combo, you generate offensive resources that can be spent to deploy drones or fire attacks directly into your opponent’s playfield. Every decision carries weight: pushing hard to maintain a combo increases your offensive pressure, but one mistake can collapse your momentum and hand the initiative back to the other player. This constant back-and-forth creates a palpable tension that keeps even short matches feeling dramatic and skill-driven. One of the game’s defining mechanics is the ability to transform into a massive Mega Gunship after filling a power gauge through strong performance. In this form, your ship physically invades the opponent’s screen, functioning like a temporary boss encounter that floods their space with overwhelming firepower. This transformation delivers a striking power fantasy rarely seen in the genre, flipping the usual shooter dynamic on its head and letting players become the threat rather than merely survive it. While the mechanic is thrilling and visually impressive, it also introduces interesting balance considerations, as successfully enduring a Mega Gunship assault doesn’t always feel as impactful as unleashing one. Even so, it remains a memorable centerpiece that reinforces the game’s competitive identity. Rival Megagun also offers meaningful customization through its loadout system, allowing players to unlock and equip different abilities that subtly alter how their ship behaves. These options can affect survivability, offense, or combo stability, encouraging experimentation and personal playstyles rather than a single optimal approach. Over time, this adds depth to matches, especially between experienced players who understand not just how to shoot efficiently, but how to bait mistakes, apply pressure, and exploit the rhythm of the game’s systems. Mastery comes not only from mechanical skill, but from learning when to play aggressively and when to hold back. Visually, the game embraces a colorful pixel-art style that pays homage to arcade shooters of the past while maintaining its own energetic personality. Enemy designs are expressive, explosions are satisfying, and the screen is consistently alive with motion without becoming visually unreadable. The soundtrack complements this intensity with fast-paced, arcade-inspired music that reinforces the sense of urgency in every encounter. While the character art and narrative framing are fairly light and mostly serve as flavor rather than a driving force, they provide enough personality to make each pilot feel distinct without distracting from the action. In single-player, Rival Megagun offers arcade modes that introduce the mechanics and characters while providing a solid training ground. These modes are enjoyable but intentionally lean, reinforcing the sense that the game’s true purpose lies in competition. When played against another human, whether locally or online, the design truly comes alive, showcasing its unique blend of bullet hell precision and versus-game mind games. That reliance on multiplayer does mean long-term enjoyment can hinge on player availability, but even so, the core experience remains compelling enough to stand out in a crowded genre. Ultimately, Rival Megagun succeeds as a creative reinvention of the shoot ’em up, one that respects the genre’s roots while confidently pushing it in a new direction. Its emphasis on direct rivalry, constant pressure, and transformative power moments gives it an identity that feels distinct rather than derivative. For players who love shmups but crave something more confrontational and dynamic than traditional score chasing, it offers a fast, tense, and rewarding experience that proves the genre still has room to surprise.
