Really great game. I love the art and the way the house comes alive while you explore it. There's something about the art that feels nostalgic for a time that doesn't exist anymore. It really feeds into the overall story. I'm not a huge horror game player, because I get too scared easily. There were a few times where the game really had my heart pounding, but the story is well worth it. I love strange games that have their own voice and this one definitely does. Some parts of it remind me a little of David Lynch's films. 10/10 would recommend!
i'm scared i like it
"Hey pal, you wanna hear a story? It's sad, but all good stories are, and this one's funny too..." I love horror games like this. Atmospheric, quiet, unsettling, but somehow also nostalgic. It feels like being trapped in a bad childhood memory.
Absolutely Awesome, loved the aesthetic, the horror build up, the pacing. The cutscenes were awesome, reminded me of Mouthwashing a tad bit. For a 3 dollar experience, you get your moneys worth.
One of the biggest surprises I've had streaming low cost indie games. A genuinely psychological horror with a depth and care far beyond it's low poly, clunky aesthetic. In many ways, the game almost tricks you into underestimating it. I would love if this patient, deep approach was more common in the genre. Ritual Static feels like it has some clear inspirations - it's hard not to think of Skinamarink, for example - but the unique voice and creativity throughout really carries it into something else.
not for me. i got bored after 30 min of walking around random hallways. this game really needs an ai enemy to do something when your doing random" chores" i liked the vibe but i felt no tension when i realized the game will never throw anything that would "fail me". i still think the style is good and for someone with more patience this game would work.
What started off as a "ooo cheap game why not" turned into a night spent really thinking about my earlier years. This game dredged up some memories of my childhood I didn't even know I had and had me scared not of some cheap monster or loud noise but of the next punch to my psychological gut. For a few bucks you may never find another gem like this.
very good atmosphere, i was interested throughout the experience, has an almost sad feeling thats hard to understand
Think most of it went over my head but it was well worth playing Also if jumpscares annoy you, there was only one for me, at the start of the game
a hidden gem amongst the masses of asset-flip poopoo horror games!!!! AMAZING story telling, artistic direction and atmosphere- especially given the limiting nature of this particular style of 3D game art. very distint undertone of melancholy. haunting. nostalgic. somber. it's clear that *something* has happened but the game doesn't give you an inch. i NEED to know more!!!!
