Right. I have a lot to say about this game. Good and bad. Fellow dev' review. Finished the game in 7 hours. First and foremost; the overall experience was alright at best, at least to me it was. Nothing crazy or groundbreaking. I do wish the dev' spent more time on this game though. If you like mascot horror games like Bendy and the Ink Machine, Poppy Playtime and/or Garten of BanBan, there's a lot to enjoy with this game. The idea of this was game was decent. The potential is definitely there. However, I had my fair share of gripes with it. Mostly in terms of visuals, gameplay and story; -- The game sometimes shamelessly copies ideas and/or events from other mascot horror games. Inspiration is fine, but there were times where I just thought I was playing FNaF or something something similar... -- The visuals work fine but are often mediocre or inconsistent. I get that the developer went for a certain style, but having Microsoft Paint images as UI and jumpscare images made me laugh more than actually scare me. When I was sharing my screen with friends they often thought I was playing a Roblox game. Once again, the dev' probably did this on purpose to fit the 'mascot horror for kids' more, but it's definitely noticable. -- The puzzles were fine but very same-y and were reused often throughout its runtime. It got old after the first 2-3 times. Some more variety would've helped. Also, the lighting choices in certain puzzle rooms made it very hard to see and had me stuck for a good while. For example, having a room with aggressive red lighting while looking for red and orange blocks wasn't the best choice design wise. It was very hard to distinguish the two colors. -- The story and its dialog were often weird and dragged at times. Without spoiling anything, there are moments in the game where you straight up listen to 10-ish minutes of monologue... A monologue about story details we already figured out in the first 2 hours of the game, mind you. Criticisms aside, I do recommend this game. Despite all my personal gripes mentioned above, it isn't a BAD game. Not by a long shot. It's decently charming and has its moments where it genuinely did scare me. The dialog is goofy and certain plot twists did get me good. 7/10. Keep it up Lachlan!
I have been following Bodhi n Friends development for quite some time now & honestly, I am really impressed with the final result. Lachlan has shown many dev logs on his journey with this game, and so many cool features have been added as a result. I really like the phone mechanic where you can read messages, use the flashlight and even have a draining battery so people can't spam it all the time. There has been some real thought into the overall game design because of this. For example, not all light switches work, and if your battery dies, so does your torch. Thankfully there are handy charging stations scattered around monster crunch studio that lets you top it back up. The game is also very well polished overall. I maintain a constant 60fps in 4K high settings, and again, I know Lachlan has done a good job at ensuring LODS are available so that it is playable on a wide range of machines. The game is pretty scary overall as well with many of the friends stalking you throughout the hallway. There is lots to do and lots of lore to find with mini games being playable within the testing room. It's really neat. I wanted to get the review in early to help people with their buying decision, and I wholeheartedly recommend this game. I know mascot horror is on the rise at the moment, but at least this one has some genuine soul and life into it that many will find appealing.
Solid indie horror here. The suspense is a slow build. They don't blow their load super early in this one. The game also features some voice actin' which is much appreciated. I've enjoyed the near hour spent in the virtual game studio. Not bad for under 6 bucks. Gameplay here: https://youtu.be/KpYzOe9G7Tw
I've been playing Bodhi n Friends and man, it's a cool game. Lachlan has packed it with some cool features, The game looks great, runs smooth, and has some real spooky moments. Exploring Monster Crunch Studio keeps you on your toes, especially with those mini-games. If you're into horror games, you should definitely give this one a shot

This game is pretty scary! It's almost like Bendy and the Ink Machine but with a different twist to it.
its a good game but you cant date bodhi so 0/10
The Mascot Horror game ever made, unironically an amazing tongue in cheek and subtly done parody of games like Garten of Banban, FNAF, and Poppy's Playtime
I'm enjoying the game so far. Taking my time because of some major difficulty spikes with instant death and weird checkpiont placement, and also the fact that I'm playing it on Steam Deck (more on my experience on the SD later) and I'm not all that good with playing FPP games with the gamepad 😄. The game does a nice job with adding some variety to the gameplay with some combat, puzzles and chase sequences. The story is interesting, and it is cool to look around for lore bits and clues in the environment. People who are into it will have a good time. The visuals are simple with some nice post processing effects and shaders. It has its style and you have to judge yourself if you like it or not. Is it scarry? Well, it is tense at some points and some lore bits are a bit creepy. If you are into jumpscares and mascot horror you will feel right at home. I recommend it. A nice game for mascot horror fans. Steam Deck experience: I assigned the controlls, changed graphics settings to medium, lowered the resolution and I must say that it plays nice! My only complaints are the need to assign some controls during the game because not all buttons are listed in the menu, text on the phone is unreadable on resolution lower than 480p. There is no 1280x800 resolution and interface is cut on left and right side on 720p (although this can be fixed with ui scaling option) The game keeps around 40fps even on highest settings and 720p but it drains battery like hell in this case 💀. Overall I really enjoy it and I'll definitely finish it on SD.
I love Bodhi 'n' friends, it's very cool how it turned out
