I'm a huge fan of tactical RPGs and medieval strategy games, so I really wanted to like to this one. Sadly, it's a bit too rough around the edges to recommend right now, even for an early access game from an indie dev. The tutorial barely explains anything, and most of the game mechanics are directly copied from the recent Fire Emblem series entries. If you've already played Fire Emblem, then you'll probably be fine, but some of the mechanics are still vague, such as characters classes and which perks apply to which characters. The movements are janky and stiff (although the combat animations look decent), and the dialogue is laughably bad. I suspect that either AI or google translate was used, rather than an English speaking writer. The main character has zero personality of any kind and basically just says "SIR! YES SIR!" in every story sequence. The first four missions were cleared purely by walking in a straight line at the enemy and pressing attack, with zero thought or strategy required at all. The UI seems only half finished, or perhaps a shoddy mobile port. Maybe with a lot more development time, some of these issues can be fixed, but this cake needs to go back in the oven for a long, long time before it's ready. If you are looking for a medieval RPG with tactical elements, consider any of the following excellent titles instead: Battle Brothers Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga Lost Eidolons Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch Tactics Ogre: Reborn Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- English - Inglés: Rise Eterna 2 is a tactical RPG that shows zero mercy. You think you’re a genius, move a unit with confidence… and two turns later you’re staring at the screen in silence, rethinking your life choices. Everything is strategy: positioning, timing, and not messing things up. When a play works, you feel like a 4D chess mastermind. When it doesn’t, you learn the hard way, just like in the good old games. In short: Rise Eterna 2 is about thinking, suffering, and trying again with your pride slightly wounded. I give it an 7.5/10, with a bonus for reminding me that I’m not as much of a strategist as I thought.
普通に歩いているだけで、フリーズします。バグ多し。どうしようもない。デバッグ作業が雑なのは、前作から同じ。
This game is really good, much better than the first. The battles are more dynamic, now everyone counterattacks, and companion support makes a huge difference in battles. Plus, the figures on the map and in battles are bigger and much more beautiful. Now it really feels like a proper Fire Emblem battle. The crafting system is much more interesting, and it makes perfect sense to want to capture every resource on the map. The story is really good, and yes, you need to play the first game because this is the sequel to the first one. I want to thank the devs for increasing the party limit to 9, as now we can use more interesting characters in battles without having to give up too many. Overall, I give this game a 10/10 and hope for sales success so the devs can get excited about making Rise Eterna 3.
Had high hopes for this since I love the genre but the game had no depth and the difficulty was a joke even on hard (wtf did the entire enemy team all attack my main charater and do 1 damage when they can just attack the rest of the party? Will refund.
Rise Eterna 2 is a decent tactical RPG with familiar mechanics and a straightforward story. It’s not trying to reinvent the genre, but the combat system works well and the visuals fit the game’s style. Some parts of the interface feel a bit clunky, but overall it’s a solid experience for fans of turn-based strategy games.
说实话 , 如果不是战旗我都不会看一眼,玩起来还是挺无聊的
Solid game. Great story that takes some time to finish which is nice, fun and diverse set of characters, lots of customization and tactics to check out. All in all, i can recommend it! It has few kinks i hope to see fixed later (it doesn't support wide screens, and it's a bit on the easy side even on the hard difficulty) but all in all it's a solid game! I highly suggest playing it on controller though, since the controls are a bit smoother that way.
Rise Eterna 2, developed by Forever Entertainment S. A., Makee Games, and Ricci Cedric Design and published by Forever Entertainment S. A., is a tactical role-playing game that aims to refine the ideas of its predecessor while leaning heavily into the traditions of classic strategy RPGs. It presents a focused, retro-inspired experience built around grid-based combat, streamlined progression systems, and a war-driven narrative that unfolds across a series of compact, mission-based encounters. Rather than reinventing the genre, it concentrates on accessibility and efficiency, offering a familiar structure that is easy to engage with from the outset. The story follows Jacht, a newly recruited soldier drawn into a larger conflict involving rival factions competing for power within a fractured empire. The narrative embraces well-established genre themes such as political tension, loyalty, and the shifting nature of alliances. While it does not break new narrative ground, it maintains a steady sense of momentum, moving quickly from one event to the next without becoming overly dense or reliant on exposition. Characters serve their roles effectively within the plot, though they are not always explored in great depth, resulting in a story that is functional and engaging but rarely surprising. Gameplay revolves around turn-based battles on grid-based maps, where positioning and careful planning are essential. Each encounter challenges players to consider terrain, unit placement, and enemy behavior, creating a tactical rhythm that rewards thoughtful decision-making. The mechanics are intentionally streamlined, making the game approachable for newcomers to the genre while still offering enough structure to keep battles engaging. Movement and attacks are easy to understand, and the overall flow of combat remains consistent throughout the campaign. One of the more distinctive aspects of the game is its approach to character progression. Instead of relying on traditional leveling systems, it uses skill trees and a gem-based enhancement system to shape each unit’s abilities. This allows for a degree of customization, enabling players to tailor their team according to preferred strategies. While this system introduces flexibility, it can also feel somewhat limited in practice, as the range of meaningful differences between characters is not always as pronounced as it could be. Over time, this can reduce the sense of individuality within the roster. The pacing of the game is one of its strengths. With a relatively concise campaign, it avoids unnecessary padding and maintains a steady progression from one mission to the next. This structure ensures that players are consistently moving forward, with each battle contributing directly to the overall experience. However, the streamlined nature of the game also means that it lacks the depth and variety found in more expansive tactical RPGs. As the campaign progresses, encounters can begin to feel repetitive, particularly due to limited enemy diversity and a consistent gameplay loop. Visually, Rise Eterna 2 adopts a pixel art style that pays homage to classic titles in the genre. Character sprites and portraits are detailed and expressive, capturing a nostalgic aesthetic that aligns well with the game’s design philosophy. Environments are functional and varied enough to support the gameplay, though there are moments where the presentation feels uneven, with some elements appearing more polished than others. Despite this inconsistency, the overall visual identity remains cohesive and appealing. The game’s audio design complements its atmosphere, with a soundtrack that emphasizes the scale and tension of its conflicts. While effective in setting the tone, it can become repetitive over longer play sessions. Interface design, on the other hand, presents some challenges. Navigating menus and accessing certain information can feel less intuitive than expected, which occasionally disrupts the flow of gameplay and highlights areas where refinement would have been beneficial. Ultimately, Rise Eterna 2 is a game that succeeds in delivering a straightforward and accessible tactical RPG experience. It captures the essence of classic strategy games through its mechanics and presentation, offering a focused campaign that is easy to engage with and complete. However, its limited depth, repetitive structure, and lack of innovation prevent it from standing out in a genre filled with more complex and polished titles. For players seeking a streamlined, retro-inspired tactical experience, it provides a solid and enjoyable journey that respects the fundamentals of the genre. While it may not leave a lasting impression or redefine expectations, it fulfills its role as a competent and approachable entry in the world of tactical RPGs. Rating: 7/10
So far, not bad at all. Could use some tech polish though—screen scrolling and mouse controls feel janky, I’m kinda fighting them. Visuals are fine but a bit “quick and dirty.” That said, the story’s got its hooks in me and leaves a strong first impression. Fingers crossed it ramps up instead of fizzles out by the end. Not perfect, but pretty solid.
