R&R is a wonderful deduction game with a great soundtrack and story. Highly recommended if you're a fan of Return of the Obra Dinn or just want to listen to some good tunes while working through the deduction. The story and journal entries were engaging and really felt like a view into the lifes of the characters.
I thought this would be a sapphic romance story but one of the protagonists is a man :(
Overall, I enjoyed the game. The music and voice acting were really good and the story was immersive. It would have been nicer if the game didn't focus on finding out the dates of special events. It gets old after a while. Also, there wasn't an actual mystery to decipher, just reading through the lives of two individuals. It's ok, life is not always eventful or that interesting, but I wasn't motivated to "find out what happened". Nevertheless, I enjoyed how the game encouraged me to think, without being too frustrating.
I always enjoy the gameplay of Tim Sheinman's music culture detective games!
Riley & Rochelle is a deduction game. Your job is to identify the dates of diary entries, hunting for clues in interviews, news articles, and the diaries themselves. The puzzles are clever, and some of them involve a bit of Googling (or at least, reaching into your brain for 90s trivia). But while the gameplay is fun, the thing I love most about it are the characters. I really enjoyed inhabiting Riley & Rochelle's world. The story is funny and touching, the voice acting is great, and the art style is beautiful. Plus, the music is excellent. Each track feels authentic to the time period. It's like stepping back in time! Highly recommend.
The UI isn't great, but the puzzles are interesting and the plot is engaging
I had a lot of fun with this. Felt super nostalgic and piecing together their timelines was super fun.
I don’t think I could say enough good things about this game. The story is insane there’s SO much you could do. Don’t even get me started on the badass pet spinoff mystery. 10/10 game

I really enjoyed this game. It reminded me of The Roottrees are Dead. It was a fun and engaging story with multiple endings to see. Well worth your time.
