Yes another VR rhythm game but this one's not to bad as VR rhythm games go. Comes with 10 songs and easy to import you own mp3s. Hit the ufo discs according to colour and the harder you do the more points you score. It's not beat saber but it's a good one if you're into these type of games. I managed 254 calories, which places it in the higher tiers of my VR fitness gaming tests. It's hard not to notice it's quite Beat Saber'ish in its approach. But doesn't quite manage to get my endorphins pumping the same way as Beat Saber, but Rhythm Defender is fairly priced, making it a worthwhile purchase you're seeking out VR games for exercise purposes.
Fun game, this will be my goto game to burn loads of calories, gets addictive when playing it with your favorite songs.
I'm hooked...I will stop going to the gym I think...More fun at home playing with the kids and having a workout...;-)
5 STARS!! This game is amazing, an insane amount of fun and a great workout. I held off buying beat saber because I didn't know if you could import songs into that so I can't compare directly to that game. Importing songs on this is as easy as picking them from a folder on your hard drive within the game. Careful this is an addictive game, after "testing it out" I found that I had spend an hour playing and didn't realize it. I got this on sale for $10 and at that price this is a no-brainer, get it now! My only complaints (since this is the early version and the developer wanted feedback) is 1) setting the height seems to be off, it tries to make me 1m tall and won't let me change this. I am about 6 foot (2m) so I'm not sure it is trying to calibrate based on the height of the controllers. If that is the case, it isn't clear in the instructions. 2) the headbut doesn't seem to work no matter how hard I try, this might be related to the height issue above.
As a daily BoxVR and Beatsaber player I tried this game looking forward to testing the custom song import feature. Unfortunately I cant recommend this game as I found the following: ---The hitbox and the feeling of hitting the ships is not satisfying ---The ship patron generated for the imported songs has nothing to do with the melody. ---It is a rhytm/exercise game and does not have any sound settings whatsoever. This is particularly bothersome because the ship hitting sound effects are way louder than the melody. --- The right glove color is RED...Considering that beatsaber is the leader in the field, I think all rythm games should have an option to change colors since it is extremely annoying play with opposite colors of what we are used to. The game incorporates a novel idea about fighting something while hitting the "notes" and I think this has pottential but the whole idea is not well execute IMHO.
Game is abandoned, don't waste your money. No updates in over a year.
Decided to try the game again after reviewing the developer comments and while my vr setup wasn't issue pushing the in game height to the highest setting fixed the problem. The game is fun overall, just wish hardcore was more accurate in custom songs at least it has an issue of reading the wrong hand even though my hands were in the right spot. Not sure what could cause that issue so I just stick to hard mode for now.
Hello Got Info that my install was wrong now it runs fine ! I choose a track UFO pops up but no start ? What do i have to delete to get a fresh install. MAybe i choosed a wrong own mp3 at start and something wnet wrong
Wow! I never thought I would play a rhythm game as good as Beat Saber, but this is it! Works very well and is great looking. It's still early access so a few "quirks" are there, but it's great fun. What's more is that you can load your own music and beat to that! [played on a Rift S]
