rFactor 2 feels different from Assetto Corsa and most other sims. The force feedback is raw, mechanical, and unforgiving. You can feel grip build, tires scrub, bumps, and weight transfer through the wheel. Small mistakes on the brake or throttle can unsettle the car fast, so the limit teaches itself. You stop driving by HUD numbers or reference points, and start judging speed by feel.

Honestly, just stick to AMS2 or LMU for GT racing. This will cost you an arm and a leg if you want the full experience and it doesn't even feel good to play. Also, the base game leaves behind a 27.2 GB folder after uninstallation, which you have to delete manually. Like wtf mate
rFactor2 is very raw and unfinished despite the fact that it was in development for more than 10 years... in fact, it's hard to even call it a game. the only thing you can do in this "racing game" is hot-lapping. There is no career mode, not even an offline championship with AI (even 20-25 years old titles like F1 challenge 99-02 or GTR2 had it). You can only start a single race with AI, but since AI is terrible here and in a disgusting state, there is no point in racing with AI at all. The only pros in rF2 is excellent physics and simulation, I really like the handling and feedback here. Thus it's a shame that devs still couldn't finish rF2 properly. Instead of finishing this game and bringing it to a normal state, the developers went to make another racing game- Le Mans Ultimate
This game had a lot of potential, but I don’t know what it is maybe greed or cockiness, what do I know I am a random peasant who paid full price for an unpolished ♥♥♥♥♥♥ experience idk. Whatever 'it' is, this game is unplayable. Yes, the tire physics are amazing, but at least other dumbass games that don't have it actually work! In this excrement of a game, if I connect my controller after launching the game, it won’t recognize it and ooh you can't see if it works unless you load into a frikin RACE!!!. Also, why does this POS game not load the freaking maps 50% of the time and just crash?, ya not just talking about the modded ones. The UI is laggy and glitched, and when random ♥♥♥♥ breaks, I can’t even leave the game without force-shutting down my PC. Even a four-time Formula One world champion said this game is ♥♥♥♥, and I agree with him. I can’t believe I paid full price for this ♥♥♥♥. I had so many hopes for this crap and waited years for its improvement, but wow, it is always consistently disappointing. Keep it up guys, make it worse update by update and keep making people who genuinely expect a polished experience disappointed for eternity. P.S You’re better off getting the good 'ol tried and trusted Assetto Corsa, It may not have the fancy physics, but at least you’ll have some hair left on your head.
got this game when it was on sale, i played it and the force feedback doesnt work, ive tried everything but it still doesnt work, waste of money
i honestly dont understand what appeals to other people playing this game, theres zero strong points. the prices are insane, with you needing to pay upwards of $10 per car, plus extra for each individual map, the physics are the same thing youll get from a roblox game, the graphics dont look like theyve been updated since 2013, and the game just isnt even slightly enjoyable. do yourself a favor and buy literally any other racing game
The best word I can use to describe this game is just slop. If you want any content that isn't 8 years old, you have to pay extra for it. Performance sucks for no real reason. The ai feels like it was written in the span of a week. The crew chief somehow has the most annoying voice out of any racing game I've ever played. The ui design is just netflix but worse. Controllers are agonizing to use, despite the ui being made for a controller. The whole game is just corporate waste. Buy any other racing game
Straight to the point. Pros: * Great physics * Great AI for single player * Mod support * It's very light to run and has a low install size * The game/sim is good, but... Cons: * Pre-historic UI overall * All the content is either paid individually or it's distributed as a Workshop Mod, along with the mods themselves, good luck finding the "base game" dev content in there. * FFB is good, but not nearly as good as in AC, the physics here are "supposed to be THE most realistic in sim racing", and it does feel good to drive, but the FFB can be vague sometimes. * It does not have good "in-race" UI, no radar, outdated looks and no customization whatsoever * I don't usually care much about graphics, but these look far older than the actual age of the game. Conclusion: If you are indecisive about this and AMS2, get AMS2. AMS2 can do the "Pros" section of this with 90% efficiency, while fixing all the "Cons" section from rF2. I'll say it again, AMS2 dos 90% of everything good about rF2, while at the same time fixing everything bad from rF2, AMS2 is a much more user-friendly and polished/finished product. With hundreds of hours on other sims, and I've already gave up on rF2 with just 8+ hours.
