Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

Super fast paced, very challenging, very fun/addictive. Love this game.
one of the best rogue-like games ive played especially graphically the story is in broken pieces and the whole premise is dealing with trauma absolute cinema

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

A narrative concept that humanity loves to grapple with, but with a dark, hellish twist that would make Sisyphus look lucky. And my god they wove it so deeply into every single element of the environments and items that I still find myself discovering new angles to view the plot elements and themes. The gameplay is very fun, and while it can be quite challenging at first, your confidence in combat and skill with the mechanics will scale well as you die. Speaking of dying, the meta elements in this game always left me feeling like I was doing exactly what was intended, even if I just choked super hard against the first boss again Replayability is great (there is an endless "mode" with extra lore and scoring :O ), weapon variety is awesome, the enemy design is really really cool artistically and mechanically. Please play this game and experience some good combat while simulutaneously wrapping your head around one of the most dreadful and existential hellscapes ive encountered in media. (the memory leak issue is easily fixable. if after like 2 hours your graphics start looking awful, SUSPEND your run, relaunch the game, and it will be back to normal. when you suspend, your run is paused until you relaunch. you have to be in a room with no more enemies and no hazards. )
My Incredibly Frustrating Roguelike Can't Be This Addictive.
It's a deep story driven 3PS, with awesome graphics and awesome sound (does even have Dolby Atmos!), but at its core it's a roguelike with bullet-hell combat and with metroidvania elements. But the combat IS fun, so even if you dislike roguelikes like I do, you will find your way through the campaign (2* 3 levels, so to speak).
my game is crashing every 15-30 minutes. it's not super well optimised for its visual fidelity. the negative review is solely because of this, it's incredibly frustrating. in the rare instance it doesn't crash for a while, there's a memory leak, so the performance degrades significantly as you keep playing, so you've gotta restart. is this why the game has a roguelike tag? the game is fun (and quite good), but it's definitely not a roguelike. it tries to take the shape of one (e.g., resetting every run), but it doesn't succeed by virtue of its core gameplay design being utterly detached from its sparse and near invisible roguelike elements. THE defining feature of a roguelike is each run being different because your item choices dramatically affect the way you play the game. nearly all of returnal's items are invisible stat boosts, and even the different weapons you pick up don't massively change the way you fight enemies. that out of the way, the game does feel great to play and the weapons are pretty cool despite not accommodating bigger shifts in playstyle. I'm especially fond of its support for mixed inputs (though a mod is needed to turn off the input switch sound) because it plays really well with the steam controller's trackpad and gyro. it's the most fun I've had with this setup, it's a shame the game crashes so often.
It was fun, interesting and exciting the first couple of hours. When you realize that you loose your progress everytime you die it's just not worth the trouble anymore.. I'm glad I didnt pay full price for this
