Absolutely wonderful game. Great mystery, brilliantly appropriate (and cool) graphics, good puzzling. And now the soundtrack is stuck in my head.

Fun for 40% of game then it gets tedious, no quality of life.
A very unique murder mystery! I enjoyed the creative premise and was surprised by some of the places they went with it. My least favorite part was that it expects you to guess a few identities off folks' accents, and playing a second time for the last achievement is painful when you have to wait a full minute in every scene, so if you want all the achievements remember to mark the silly "Captain Did It" one first. Otherwise, definitely worth a try.
I want to say I absolutely loved the game. For over 2hrs I was HOOKED. It's a lot of fun as the story develops and as you spot little hard to notice details. I got through about 2/3 of the book. But I do have some issues with it. I'm sure there's maybe genuine hints throughout to show who's who, but I just couldn't find em. I got about half the cast through the story and then hints like spotting the Carpenter and his mate in their workshop during a scene. Then to reach 2/3 of the crew it was a mix of decent deduction through who's standing together in scenes or clothes (And unfortunately I found a few just by guessing based on race. Oops.) After that I needed a walkthrough. I was just struggling to spot hints. Maybe I'm not in as big a majority as I'd suspect though. I would have just powered through without a walkthrough, but unfortunately I just felt like navigation was a chore. Traveling between scenes, going to specific pages, and hopping between the artist's rendition and the crew list were all painfully slow/time consuming. But even before reaching that point after all the scenes unlock is slow in a way that feels frustrating. I get it. The swirling cloud is neat. But I reached the body 30secs ago and it's not as neat the 12th time around. Or the 16th. Etc. And after the scene is revealed you have a span of time where you can't exit it or move to the next. Seemingly unable to skip this time, but also can't stop it. Sometimes it's a good amount of time, other times it's annoying when it's 2 bodies and no where else I can travel to, and often it's quite aggravating when I wish for MORE time to look about. I do really like this game. The story is fantastic, the gameplay is ALMOST FANTASTIC. I think it's worth it for people who like a good detective story. In the future I hope for a return to this style that can maybe iron out the issues of pacing and menu navigation. I don't think the difficulty should be toned down. I personally would have like more clues to the identities because I got stumped, but I don't think the experience should be watered down due to my struggles. If things felt more streamlined it would have made me want to engage with it for longer. TL;DR If you want a really neat detective story I highly suggest this, but know that it will be a very, very time consuming game due to it being a little clunky and the likelihood you'll be stumped a number of times throughout.
