Man, I really liked this game. It was a nice turn your brain off kind of game, but using GenAI is such a disappointment.
I played an hour on Deck and while I think it can be very relaxing, it was fairly clunky and not especially well explained. Definitely not controller friendly if that matters to you. Discussions are showing undisclosed genAI use and I'm inclined to agree with some of the evidence.

I currently have 23.3 hours in Re:Story, and up until this point, I have genuinely loved the game. As a cozy gamer, one of the things I appreciate most is that the chill gameplay loop. I have enjoyed progressing through the story, completing tasks, and watching the world develop. Unfortunately, I have now reached a point where a bug has essentially stalled my progress. I am on the final day to repair the required items, and because of the issue, I have stopped playing rather than risk progressing further. From what I have seen, the developer appears to be aware of the bug, but I have not found a confirmed timeline for a fix. Because this issue currently prevents me from continuing the story as intended, I cannot recommend the game in its present state. If the bug is repaired, I would be open to updating my review because I truly enjoyed my first 23 hours. There are also concerns being discussed about the possible use of generative AI assets without clear disclosure. I cannot independently confirm every claim surrounding that issue, but I do believe transparency around generative AI matters. As AI becomes more common in game development, players should have enough information to make informed decisions about which games and developers they choose to support. I have also seen discussion regarding revoked game keys obtained through another site. Again, I encourage anyone concerned about that situation to research the available information and reach their own conclusion. There is a lot about Re:Story that I enjoyed, which makes reaching this point particularly disappointing. For now, my recommendation is on hold until the progression-blocking bug is fixed.
I enjoy most things about this game, it has a lot going in the right direction! I love the sound effects, artwork, game cycle, and retro additions. The only hang-ups occur with how cleaning items only require 90% completion before PING ALL DONE. It grabs my satisfaction and slaps it. 90% satisfied from cleaning and 10% slapped. The other hiccup is that time has no pause when I'm creating my masterpiece artworks... it forces my hand to purely add quick, ugly little sad-faces as my da vinci. If there could be an optional toggle for required 100% dirt cleaning and a PAUSE when using the airbrush, it would create a truly CHILL electronics repair... shop. *confetti*
I can't recommend this game because of undisclosed AI usage. The gameplay was fun, but lying about using AI just makes all the time I spent on this game leave a bad taste in my mouth.
bought this game because it looked cozy and cute. found out its AI slop from the lawsuit
As an artist I take offense that they've chosen to not only deny work of actual talented artists and use AI, The devs actually doubled down and denied the obvious evidence, Wish I could refund this
Очень крутая чилловая и вайбовая игруля про починку различных электроприборов. Понравилось на сколько детализированы внутренности каждого аппарата, это реально круто.
Undisclosed use of AI... Extremely disappointing. I wish I could refund.... The gameplay loop and game itself is good and I would be mostly fine with the use of AI if it was minimal and DISCLOSED properly...
