Restart Mode

This is a curious case of Atomic Fabrik/GamesforGames/whatever other fake/shell account he's using now to try mislead gamers/evade his Steam ban getting ahold of someone else's garbage, in this case, an RPG Maker asset flip from Russia, and slapping his own name on it. We can only guess whether the game was acquired legally or stolen... we know from prior history this "developer" has no qualms about copyright/intellectual property theft, or fraudulently using fake reviews to mislead and scam gamers into buying fake games. Restart Mode is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. Notably the developer here couldn't work out how to use RPG Maker to make an RPG... and that's the only thing RPG Maker can do properly... except it's not even very good for making RPGs. Instead, we have an extremely poorly done Russian fan-fiction "adventure"... more visual novel/e-book than actual game, where you just wander around an asset flipped RPG Maker pixelcrap town and talk to NPCs. I wish I could be an NPC, sometimes. Atomic Fabrik have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was [b]only 3 players[/b], and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 130,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Due to the 2024 FTC ruling (16 CFR § 465.4, 15 U.S.C. § 45), these fake reviews are a violation of US Federal Law.[/quote] So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Restart Mode has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of $10 USD, and this high price for garbage is intended purely as a scam and to protect the fake reviews... these fake games are a cash hustle, after all, not sincerely intended to be real games. Avoid this.

Должен сказать, что мне нравится, когда сюжет завязывается в ограниченном времени и/или пространстве и при этом имеется множество возможностей, а не пустой открытый мир. Если бы меня посетил день сурка, то я бы, вероятно, постарался что-то изучить за эти дни, а лишь потом пытаться разгадывать загадку и выходить из повторяющегося дня. Впрочем, легко говорить об этом, если ты не сам в моменте. В общем, помогаем герою разгадать загадку и выпутаться из происходящих с ним событий, заодно изучая этот мир. Интересно…

An average game with pixelated graphics and a decent storyline. It's not embarrassing to play through; variety is a good thing. There are a couple of interesting moments, but I won't spoil them.
