How is this still riddle w bugs??? Hack & Slaps MV? Idk brb.... Welp it was fine til it wasn't almost to end. I went to main menu to reload (unbroken achievement) loaded back in & its buggy af. Moves dont act right. Gliding while stand in place. 🤞🤞 hard reset will help? 😆 surprised it did so thats good :/ The devs was like yeah there hasn't been any long annoying hard platforming, lets put some bs in last area.
Yeah, it's pretty decent. It's not some grand epic, you know - but sometimes you just want to play an MV that ISN'T that. There honestly isn't that much to say about it, it all just plays alright, there's nothing that it does badly, but there's also nothing it does well enough to point out. One caveat, while I normally do engage with that, this time I didn't care to read the diary logs I picked up so maybe that contributes to the story being better than just what the dialogue is, although I doubt it. The dialogue and narrative as I experienced like the rest of the game was pretty decent, but nothing memorable.
A decent enough metroidvania, although a bit rough around the edges. Plus, the first boss is the most difficult one in the game due to lack of upgrades at that point, and later boss fights are made easier using them (although you can avoid using them for a better challenge). Not a deal-breaker, but something to be ready for when playing.
Enjoyed playing this game. I am not too big on metroidvanias but this game definitely felt more than just a Metroidvania and also had great doomed future aesthetics along with a decent story. Would definitely recommend!
Super fun game. Really well done and the combat is crisp. I loved the movement and the bosses. My only complaint is that I cant get the 100% achievement to trigger even though I did everything else. It may be a bug.
Honestly? The bosses are really awesome, aside from
the final one that is just a spawner
if you've the patience of going against piles of worthless boring enemies and minibosses, because I'm not kidding when I say that the only thing you have to do against non-bosses is dash around them continuosly making the parry almost useless, and the area design is a bit boring too for rhe most part. A kind of satisfaction with enemies and minibosses comes only when you unlock a chip that allows you to do damage with the dash, because that damage can be very consistent, even more than your most powerful weapon, so if you like to feel like Eobard Tawne, one of the Anti-Flashes of DC (you know, the one from the "It was me, Barry" meme), while destroying enemies and minibosses that don't have your speed in the least, this game can give you pretty much that feeling, and it's very rare for a Metroidvania to have a consistent dash damage when it's not a principal mechanic
Disclosure: I did receive the game for free as part of a reddit raffle from the devs. I enjoyed the theming/environments in the game even though the story is a bit hard to piece together. The movement and combat are great, despite the launch move being janky. I only played after all the patches post-release but I had no real issues with difficulty/balancing. Kudos to the developers for their attentiveness and responses to feedback. I would recommend buying on a sale since I completed everything except for a no-hit achievement in under 8 hours (only using a guide for the last few collectibles).
Very solid Metroidvania with a really cool upgrade system!
