Everything is great except one core component, the gameplay. Or lack of gameplay I guess. I find it boring after just 30 minutes. I like stealth games like Splinter Cell, but not this.

I don't even know how to rate this game. Everything was good but the ending... I really like the concept of society there. Seemingly perfect, no judgement about your race, about your preferences, just don't ask questions and do your job and you'll be good. But to operate this "perfect" society you need not-so-perfect people. And I think it really does well on depicting this "perfect" society: almost all books banned, films I think as well, no communication with the world beyond this cage. So the choice is: be completely controlled and have a "perfect" life or be free. Makes you think. 7/10
République – Orwell Called, He Wants His Camera Back
So here's the pitch: You’re not the girl. You’re a magical disembodied IT intern living inside every camera and door lock of a dystopian iOS game… that somehow made it to PC. Pros: - Control security cameras like you're applying for a job at Skynet - Hack doors, phones, vending machines, probably toasters too - Sneak your way through a bootleg 1984 while your character, Hope, repeatedly ignores your commands like a rebellious Roomba - David Hayter as a deranged revolutionary ranting about banned books—yes, Snake, literally reading is illegal now Cons: - Guards with the situational awareness of wet bread - Controls from 2013’s mobile era: click once and pray she doesn’t walk into a guard’s spine - Sometimes Hope sprints straight into danger like she’s farming stealth XP - Endgame plot goes so meta it’s basically a TED Talk by ChatGPT Bonus Round: - 50% of the story: "You're in danger!" - The other 50%: "Let’s talk about books." - 100%: “Why is this vending machine storing classified intel?” Final Verdict: It’s like Black Mirror, Metal Gear, and a philosophy major got drunk and coded a stealth game with Unity. Surprisingly smart. Occasionally dumb. But hey—it’s free now, so you might as well get spied on by a depressed camera system in style. Rating: 8/10 – Would hack security for a stranger girl again. PS: Don’t expect fast-paced stealth. This is more “sneak slowly, listen to audiobook, then question reality.”
This game just isn't for me. Its still decent, exploratory, elegant.
Alright, I first played this game on my tablet after stumbling upon it while looking for long, story-driven Android games. It was fun and intriguing, especially the gameplay mechanics that rely on cameras and click-to-guide controls for 'Hope'. Now, I’ve finally got the chance to try it on PC, and oh my god, the jump in quality is insane!!!! The details, the atmosphere... I’m thoroughly enjoying it. However, even though I'm replaying it, I still haven't fully grasped the story. To understand the whole plot and the events, you actually need to listen to the cassette tapes, read the posters, newspapers, etc. This makes following the narrative much more complicated, and there are some terms that are honestly quite complex for a non-native English speaker like myself. Even the ending—I still haven't completely processed it yet. Although it seems logical in a way, I can't help but feel there’s a missing link in the plot and the overarching story. Overall, I highly recommend the game because it’s incredibly fun and a great way to pass the time. If you are a seasoned gamer who loves intricate stories, this game is definitely for you—especially since it’s free *wink, wink* .
horrible camera and bad saving system.
