Remnith is a chaotic arcade style VR shooter where enemy units feed off of the energy of every shot that isn't lodged directly into them. The more you miss the stronger they get.

[th]
Aim True Ye Vengeful - A Lesson On FPS Trigger Discipline
[/th]

Released in 2017, Remnith is a singleplayer-only, first person shooter created and published by Cronish Games. After you find yourself stuck in the depths of an artificial complex the size of a whole continent, you desperately try to find a way back to the surface while adapting to new combat rules where missing your shots will make your enemies stronger.

[th]Category[/th] [th]Rating[/th] [th]Explanation[/th]

Design & Graphics
Average "belly of the mechanic beast"-feeling, multiple paths, unique - yet dull - enemy design, only little changes in environment, excessive light effects bothersome, menu design incredibly bland

Sound & Music
Average Fitting futuristic sounds, adequate and progressive music, both parts with little to no variety, lacking punch in weapon sounds, overall lackluster acoustic experience

Gameplay & Controls
Bad five unbalanced difficulty levels, recovery from impending doom rarely possible, classic fps controls, gamebreaking bugs and glitches, overly simplified gameplay loop

Appeal & Innovation
Bad initially appealing concept, falling flat once adjusted to, good concept but terrible execution, needs more complexity, core idea still in its infancy, tacky lore best left out

Content & Value
Poor difficulty enforced through high enemy attack damage and rate, very short experience (60-90 minutes), only two weapon types, too little variation in enemy types, replayability virtually non-existent

[th]
Personal Score:
[/th] [th]Bad[/th]

Scoring range: Poor (worst) - Bad - Average - Good - Superb (best)
Personal Thoughts:
Remnith is a classic case of "good concept - terrible execution". While sporting a great audiovisual setting and promising concept, my excitement for the game fell flat just after a couple of minutes. Initially, the idea draws you in and challenges you to test your skills in battle. But once you're past half of the second segment, you've seen it all. Once you have adjusted to the new rules, which happens fairly quickly due to their rigidity, you will breeze through the rest of the game. On lower difficulties a recovery from too many missed shots is still possible when compared to higher difficulties where it seems more sane to just restart from the latest checkpoint as there is an incredible spike in difficulty. The shortness of the overall game, the lacking variety of enemy types and player weapons, thoughtless difficulty enforcement, frustrating enemy attack patterns, lacking replayability and tacky lore are all very disappointing. Remnith feels like a good idea in concept that left the drawing board way too soon. Given that bugs, glitches and spelling errors still exist to this day, the game screams "early access" from every angle. Form over function is not going to cut it for me.

I just tried this game so these are my early impression i want to write due to the very limited number of reviews. I confirm the scale of the enviroments is impressive, a true highlight here and something i honestly haven't experienced before. Vr graphics are really good and so are controls. I find the general style of the production to be terrific. So far i really reccomend the game, If my opinion changes i will modify this review later on.
It looks pretty cool and controls pretty cool. You have to shoot big, mostly slow-moving enemies a bunch of times each until they're all dead and the door opens and you can go to the next area and do it again. As you progress, you get upgraded versions of the rapid-fire gun and the charge-shot gun which each shoot more projectiles at once for more power and more opportunity to miss. Missing creates crystals on the walls which power up the enemies to near (or actually?) invincible levels. Difficulty ramps up by forcing you to fight in smaller areas and against more enemies at once. I wasn't able to try it on VR, but it'd probably be pretty rad, especially when you dash up slopes and launch to massive heights. As a non-VR game, it gets old after an hour and a half or so because of the lack of variety in enemies, level design, and weapons. I give it a reluctant thumbs up. With more gameplay variety, I'd definitely recommend it though. Live stream footage (not at max settings or bitrate, so keep that in mind): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCX_KhWKvjQ
Ein ziemlich abstrakter Shooter, man weiß nicht was man ist und warum man dort ist, aber es sieht abgefahren aus und macht durchaus Spaß. Für 4€ kann man hier nichts falsch machen. 3/10 Reasonable for the price, but a little dull. Guns don't feel powerful enough and enemies are all the same. Shoot them, watch a wall fall over, shoot another similar one, watch a similar wall fall over. Zzzzzzzzzz.
Remnith is a game with an incredible sci-fi atmosphere and is very fun to play, however... it's a short one. I beat the entire game in 80 or so minutes. What's there is great and I loved it but at the end I found myself wishing there was more. Unfortunately that was it. I played through the game without any VR because I don't have a headset but I wish I had one. I have a feeling that this game is best enjoyed in virtual reality mode. I wouldn't recommend this for regular PC almost entirely because of the game length vs price. While the game is fantastic, it's very very short. For VR however, I really do think this would be an amazing experience, especially if you are into robots and sci-fi and cool lasers and stuff like that. The music gets you right into it too, everything fits together very well in terms of the theme. In short VR burts you could have some good fun with this I would imagine. Recommended for VR Only but not regular PC unless on sale as it's very short.

Good game overall! Tutorial helped to know what was going on - graphics are decent - would be better if I had VR I think. Futuristic setting - Corporate America what else! I unfortunately am unable to continue playing the game due to a personal physical issue - using controller hurt too much and if I had to repeatedly keep pressing a button to shoot - there's no way I'd make it past the tutorial which is exactly what happened. Overall though game is good bsic FPS if you're looking for something to pass the time with.
怪物单一,打击感太差,主角经常位置偏移,主角太弱,模式单一,造型不好看 地图单一
Remnith is not a perfect game but it is a rather fun one with the unique mechanic of enemies feeding off of your inaccuracy. For more info, check out my video about the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhMz2ogCBz8
