The visual art style for this game is great, but that's potentially why it's so disappointing that the sound design is just so entirely abysmal. Many animations have no sound or have a sound so muted that it's basically missing. Boss fights are bizarre because they are so quiet with massive attacks making almost no sound at all. On top of that, there's not much music. The song that plays when you activate a combat encounter is good, but it's the same one every time over and over and over and over and it overstays its welcome. The actual mechanics are...fine. Upgrades aren't that interesting, but even when you get something good, it often feels lackluster because there's no decent sound to give any attacks a real punchiness. I would love to recommend this game, but even when it's on sale, it's not worth your money.
So people just lie about this game
The game is very well done, an hades-like game that builds on top of the basic foundation and improves on the genre very much. People post review without even playing the game, it's very clear once you play it. First thing first, the elephant in the room: Audio design. There is a clear lack of audio effects in this game, a lot of big powerful attacks make very little sound and often feel underwhelming compared to the visual effects. Music is also a bit lackluster, the main title and credits have amazing music but the game has very few songs. That being said, I really don't think that this ruins the game compared to the rest. THE VISUALS! AMAZING! Especially the VFXs, the neon magenta and neon yellow accents are amazing, the orange, green, teal and purple are amazing. I think they could've gotten further with the colors, making them pop much more. The style is very different from the hades visual style and I think it encapsulates perfectly the medivalpunk theme. The gameplay: perfect. A classic isometric 3d roguelike. But with a lot of new attacks and way to interact with both enemies and the enviroment. The enemies are not many but I think that the number of different enemies is right for a game like this. The length: perfect. They had materials for about a 10 hours gameplay but they do sell it at €10, it has a lot of replayability and it is full of content for this 10 hours. The story: short and sweet. They kept it simple but I prefer simple to useslessly intricate, detailed and long exhausting stories that go nowere at the end or require 10 gameplays to actually understand it. Conclusion: this game has a lot of potential and a lot of really good ideas. It's really unfortunate that the studio got gutted after this game because a sequel would've been amazing. Overall vote: 8/10 Bonus paragraph: amazing queer representation.
Good game. I like its art design more than Hades 2. No idea why it has so few reviews. I’ve seen much worse games with at least 1,000 reviews. Overall, I recommend it. Perfect as a background game on the Steam Deck
The game gets repetitive very quickly. The same enemies, environments, and power-ups. The story is really boring. It draws you in with a style that, I have to admit, is beautiful, and Hades-style gameplay, but it gets boring after just an hour or two.
Унылый сжв калл. Скучный геймплей, не сильно вариативный геймплей (как для рогалика), а из музыки тут хороша только заглавная тема.
Excellent jeu, j'ai passé un super moment. Un hades like avec une direction artistique medieval cyberpunk c'est exactement ce qu'il me fallait.
-No in-game option for windowed mode -Forcibly switches on fullscreen mode when the game starts -Game game being relatively unoptimized -Intentionally disabled the out-of-the-box input ALT+ENTER to prevent manual switching to the windowed mode Talk about technical self-sabotage. It is as if the development goal was to make this game as technically inaccessible as possible. You have a feature for selecting the right monitor (read: a niche case) yet you do not have the standard feature of windowed mode that Unity comes with? "Disabling windowed mode" is one of those things that you do not want to do unless you are making the game for a specific device that does not support windows. On PC platforms, that is a straight up wrong thing to do. So you want me to play a poorly optimized Hades-wannabe in the modern native resolution of 1080p? Even the 720p resolution skips more frames than a fat man does with salads. I bet even a game this poorly optimized would run okay when downscaled to 400p or 360p. Too bad the developers went out of their way to make that Unity out-of-the-box feature disappear. A game this rudimentary should not even joke about taking 16 GB. It doesn't (thank the creators), though the system recommendations entertaining that idea tells how nuts the developers are. I am not asking developers to optimize the game (because 90 % of the cases they cannot pull it off and that is the root cause). Instead I am asking to ALLOW me to downscale it myself so that it runs acceptably despite the lack of optimization. I am not even going to mention the option of having low-definition assets (read: can be automatically generated by scaling down the existing ones) so that you have a playable experience to offer. For reference, this game is graphically on par with games on Xbox 360 and that device had measly 512 MB of RAM. I got this game from a Fanatical Mystery Bundle.
Доволі непоганий та дуже бадьорий рогалик. Нагадує Hades
