Regiments is a Real-Time Tactics game set in Germany 1989. The Cold War has gone hot, and the inferno is raging. Lead your Regiment through the fires of conflict and the fog of war. Break through the lines, call in artillery, maneuver, feign retreats, stage defenses, counter-attack. Do not relent.

less sweaty wargame... still need to know what you are doing but way less micro. would have been nice if there was more graphical fidelity since we actually have time to manage and watch engagements in this one.. kinda silly seeing tanks drive through houses etc 8/10
You have so many objectives in campaign and so few units... how to capture and hold 12 objectives with a total of 10 units ?!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The developers choice to lock multiple units into one regiment was a mistake. Unit movements become artificial, with several doing exactly the same animations to advance, shoot or turn.
Better at being wargame than any of Wargame games. Best pick for singleplayer entartainment. Game is about actual tactics, planning and decision making. Throwing a lot of tanks / inf at the problem or spamming arty all day gonna lose you more battles than win, unlike 'other' games. Post-release support from developer, free content and amazing recent DLC are something to take as an Golden standart in industry. I am serious.
The more I played this game, the more I came to regard it as an accessible introduction to the sort-of-deck-building RTS like Warno or its WW2 companion Steel Division II. The differences I found are all positive for my very personal liking: 1) a good price tag for its full content and replayabilty; 2) slower pace and somewhat smaller scale (but still you have to plan well in advance and turn out sufficient forces where they have to be, and think the operations in a long term perspective!); 3) simplified but still significant and realistic customization of your task force. The 4) is: Regiments is Single Player only! Bear this in mind. The old school World in Conflict vibes are overwhelmingly strong, and You really feel totally in charge of Your Battalion or Regiment: divided between fighting the enemy, your superiors and your subordinates (in that order), trying and unFUBARing the logistic pipeline, pleading for additional support, scrounging somehow some badly needed replacements for men and machines... all of this, with one nervous eye to the situation above, behind and beside your Area of Responsibility: any hiccup will have to be factored in at one point or another of the operation, as any boon exploited at just the right time. Gameplay wise, I reccomend it for anyone who ever played Combat Mission and Company of Heroes liking both. Setting and lore wise, any "canonic WW3 in Germany" wargamer/reader will feel truly at home.
Sadly now abandonware, with some quite severe outstanding performance issues the community assumed would be fixed
It's not as deep or fiddly as the larger franchises from better known developers perhaps... but that is also its strength. Regiments does what it attempts to do very nicely - the choices you make before and during battle are the main determinant of whether you'll be successful or not, and there's enough control that you feel things are happening -because- of your decisions rather than despite them. Even so, there's less micro-management and a lot less fiddling around with exact unit formations and positioning than, say, Wargame, and I feel this makes Regiments flow better, even if you lose a little detail (perhaps even unnecessary detail?) in the infantry/mount interactions and similar micromanagement tasks. The AI is pretty good, certainly challenging when you want it to be, but also easier if you ask for it. The new DLC seems pretty good at generating linked skirmish battles that extend the campaign feeling of the original operations pretty well, though they don't have as many interesting set pieces or... well, events, as far as I've seen so far. That's fine though, the game is still just fun to play. The AI
