This was pretty fun. Took me about 2.5 hours to complete the game. The mechanics are essentially Hotline Miami but a different setting. I enjoyed the music a lot. I do think there are a few annoying things in the game. Weapons on the ground are set randomly which can make some levels pretty annoying when you start in a tightly confined area. The final boss is quite easy to cheese and the story feels like it ends somewhat abruptly. There were a few frustrating parts but overall the difficulty wasn't too bad. Worth picking up on a sale.
very difficult, and i ragequit a lot, but it is a very good game for people looking for a challenge.
İlginç bir kombinasyon olmuş oynanış Hotline Miami gibi, kahramanımız yolu uzaya düşmüş bir Viking. Müziklerini çok beğendim.
Redgar: The Space Viking is a creative blend of science fiction and Norse-inspired fantasy that takes a familiar top-down action formula and injects it with a distinct personality. Developed by Kamara Creations and published by Bonus Stage Publishing, the game places players in the boots of Redgar, a fierce warrior determined to rescue his family from a tyrannical ruler. Rather than relying on a conventional futuristic setting, the game embraces a strange and entertaining universe where Viking culture has evolved into the stars, resulting in a world filled with advanced technology, ancient weapons, and larger-than-life battles. The game's strongest feature is its commitment to this unusual premise. From the moment the adventure begins, players are thrown into a setting where axes and laser rifles exist side by side. Massive starships resemble fortified castles, while futuristic technology is integrated into a culture that still celebrates warrior traditions. This combination gives Redgar: The Space Viking a memorable identity that separates it from many indie shooters that rely on more familiar science-fiction tropes. The world feels handcrafted and intentionally designed, with each environment offering new visual themes and combat opportunities. Combat is the driving force behind the experience and remains consistently engaging thanks to a broad selection of weapons and abilities. Players can wield traditional Viking tools of destruction such as swords, maces, spears, and axes, but they can also equip high-tech firearms, plasma-based weaponry, explosives, and rocket launchers. This variety encourages experimentation and allows players to develop their own preferred style of play. Some encounters reward direct aggression, while others can be approached with greater caution and tactical planning. The game goes beyond simple shooting by introducing a collection of advanced abilities that significantly affect gameplay. Teleportation devices, invisibility systems, rocket-powered movement, and protective energy shields add another layer of strategy to combat. These powers make encounters feel dynamic and provide solutions for situations that might otherwise become repetitive. Whether escaping overwhelming enemy forces or positioning for a surprise attack, the special abilities help maintain excitement throughout the campaign. Visually, Redgar embraces colorful pixel art that captures both retro charm and modern polish. The environments are packed with detail, and the visual effects bring weapons and abilities to life without sacrificing clarity during intense firefights. The game's camera system also deserves praise, allowing players to zoom and rotate their view to gain better awareness of the battlefield. This feature enhances gameplay while helping players appreciate the unique art direction that defines the game's world. The narrative does not aim for deep philosophical storytelling, but it succeeds through personality and style. The journey is filled with exaggerated action, dark humor, and a sense of self-awareness that prevents the adventure from taking itself too seriously. Redgar is portrayed as a larger-than-life hero whose quest is driven by both personal stakes and an appetite for combat. The story provides enough motivation to keep players invested while allowing the action to remain the central attraction. Sound design further strengthens the experience. The original soundtrack complements the game's energetic pace, combining dramatic and adventurous themes that suit the fusion of Vikings and space exploration. Weapon effects feel powerful, explosions carry satisfying impact, and the overall audio presentation helps create a world that feels alive and dangerous. While the game's combat depth and challenge level will appeal to action fans, some players may find certain encounters demanding. Success often depends on understanding weapon combinations, managing abilities effectively, and adapting to enemy behavior. Fortunately, these challenges generally feel rewarding rather than frustrating, encouraging players to improve their skills and explore the full range of tools available. Overall, Redgar: The Space Viking is an imaginative action game that succeeds because of its originality and enthusiasm. Its fusion of Viking mythology and futuristic technology creates a setting unlike most games in the genre, while its diverse arsenal, enjoyable combat systems, handcrafted levels, and memorable presentation keep the experience entertaining from beginning to end. Although it does not reinvent top-down shooters, it offers enough creativity and polish to stand out among its peers and deliver a satisfying adventure for players looking for something different. Fun Top-Down Shooting. Recommended

as much as i want to like this game, i just can't with the enemy placement and final boss fight. firstly, almost all levels have a part where there are a ton of enemies waiting for you in 1 room, which i guess its fine for 1-2 levels, but not all of them. secondly, the final boss just has too much health and the explosion hitbox is too broken (i died because i stood behind one of the pillars and it got hit on the other side but somehow i was in the damage radius??). I really hoped this game would bring the enjoyment similar to when i first played Hotline Miami, but i guess not. I wish that the devs see this and make an improvement.
Good yes
In space, no one can hear you pass out drunk.
I was signed up for Redgar: The Space Viking in Tiktok. At the time, it seemed to me that this was an unusual but very good parody of Hotline Miami. As a result...of course, the game was different from the video on it. Strange controls, inconvenient mechanics of shooting and melee weapons. I've played a lot of time in the original games, I'm used to dynamism, quick reactions and tension, but Redgar: The Space Viking lacks the main highlight of the original Hotline Miami. If you work on the game a little, you can make it a decent parody of HM
