A rough but promising hidden gem
Red Light feels like a mix of Escape from Tarkov and STALKER, but in a very stripped-down form. It’s clearly made by a small team (maybe even one person), so expectations should be set accordingly. The atmosphere and setting are great and definitely the strongest part of the game. However, there are plenty of rough edges: - AI issues: Enemies can’t open doors, behave predictably and often just run straight at you or freeze in place instead of taking cover. Even on the highest difficulty level - which is also the only one that’s actually playable, since all the others are ridiculously easy. - Survival system: Dying when you run out of food or water feels punishing. Debuffs (low stamina, blurred vision, etc.) would make more sense. - Content: Only main missions exist - no side tasks or variety. Gear options are also very limited: no backpacks, grenades, or protective equipment. At HQ, there isn’t much to do besides buying storage or crafting basic sights. - Progression: It would feel more rewarding if storage and upgrades also required raid loot, not just money. Despite all these flaws, I still recommend it. Why? Because for what it is - a simple indie extraction shooter - it can be fun in short bursts. It’s not EFT and it’s not STALKER, but it scratches a similar itch. If the developer keeps improving the game or even makes a sequel, this could turn into something much bigger. For now, it’s a small hidden gem worth supporting, especially if you enjoy single-player extraction shooters.

Is it fun? Kinda. Honestly i got the game for 2 bucks. But even then im not 100% certain it was worth it. The AI are atrocious. You fire one shot? You fool now all of china knows your here. Your starting gear is laughable considering the difficulty. Youll die in this game more than you will dark souls. Even playing ultra carefully. The game offsets this by offering you a free pistol if you have no weapons. But one magazine? You might as well walk up to the enemy and massage his shoulders for the good it will do you. According to some other reviews and such the devs are busy/dont care. right now. Dont pay full price. Even then? Maybe see if there have been any updates recently. Because the game as it is? Im sorry but isnt worth your time. I really hope i can change this review one day. But for now? no recommended.
