Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Legendary game!
Red Faction is an ambitious game whose execution doesn't quite live up to its lofty goals, but it reaches just high enough that it warrants your attention, and even a sequel. First the good: The overall concept of a miners rebellion on Mars is compelling, and both the gameplay and in-game narrative tools are solid in that derived-from-Half-Life sort of way. Volition also invested effort in advancing the capabilities of the Half Life source engine, adding variable gravity, drivable vehicles, some rudimentary stealth elements, and most impressive: destructible environments, which is definitely the most interesting innovation in the game, and one that is frankly underutilized. On the other hand, some aspects of the game feel undercooked. The most glaring one is the level design, which just feels like it was done on a budget. It's mostly geometry, with very sparse use of in-game assets, and that means you'll be walking through a lot of empty and generic corridors and rooms, that barely feel like real environments. The only thing that makes this somewhat believable is the industrial-mine setting of the game, where you can believe that the barren spaces are simply utilitarian. Nevertheless, the emptiness becomes hard to ignore after a while. Another issue is the lack of enemy variety. You'll be going through long stretches of facing the same enemies over and over again, and while there are story reasons for that, it nonetheless makes the shooting less interesting. The story itself is a kind of in-between for me: intriguing enough to keep you interested, but certainly isn't the best example of writing in gaming either. Overall, thanks to a strong foundation (Half Life), and an ambitious vision, this game clears the quality bar just enough for you to come out of this experience wanting to see a sequel that will properly realize the narrative ambitions of its creators. It has a solid Half-Life-on-Mars feel to it, and that would be good enough for most people.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

my small monkey brain is satisfied
WERE IS ACCUSED BY DAN WENTZ IN THE PAUSE MENU? Also it seems you'll want to download Alpine Launcher. I've had tech issues with crashes with explosions. Still one of my absolute favorite FPS titles, much better than some of the later titles. Must buy especially on a sale.
BACK IN YEAR 6 WHEN I WAS A LITTLE BOY, A FRIEND OF MINE WHO WAS AN AVID FAN OF RETRO FIRST-PERSON-SHOOTERS TOLD ME ABOUT RED FACTION; MORE SPECIFICALLY A PART IN THE GAME WHERE A FAT NAKED GUY RUNS UP TO YOU SCREAMING 'RED FACTION', I'VE BEEN SO INTRIGUED BY THIS EVER SINCE THEN THAT I FINALLY TOOK IT UPON MYSEFL TO PLAY THE GAME IN FULL. THROUGH THERE I HAVE BEEN MORBIDLY DISSAPOINTED IN THIS EXPERIENCE, THE ONLY PART WHERE ONE OF THE GUYS SCREAMS 'red faction' IS THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PRISON SEGMENT AT THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF THE GAME. CALLING THIS A GAME IS HONESTLY QUITE GENEROUS, THIS IS GAME IS THE ACCUMILATION OF THE PAIN FROM THE VICTIMS OF GUANTANAMO BAY, MK ULTRA, ABU GHRAIB AND THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HOLOCAUST COMBINED INTO A STREAM OF GAMEPLAY WHICH IS DESIGNED TO BUST YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BALLS TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CAN'T EVEN CRY FOR MERCY ANYMORE. MOST OF THIS GAME FEELS LIKE THEY EITHER WANTED TO BE HALF LIFE OR HALO, BOTH OF WHICH ARE GOOD GAMES IN THEIR OWN RIGHT BUT TRYING TO COMBINE TWO VASTLY DIFFERENT LINEAR FPS EXPERIENCES INTO ONE GAME IS JUST UTTER BOLLOCKS. THIS GAME IS SO ♥♥♥♥ INFACT, THAT I SAT THERE IN UTTER DISBELIEF AT THE FACT THAT THIS GAME WAS SUCCESSFUL ENOUGH TO SPAWN A SEQUEL, LET ALONE GIVE BIRTH TO AN ARGUABLY MUCH BETTER FRANCHISE (that of which being saints row 1-2). I FEEL SODOMIZED, RAPED, MURDERED, BETRAYED AND EMOTIONALLY PULVERISED. THANKS VOLITION. BIG THANKS TO ALEX TOO, WAY TO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GO.
i can't believe star_ said this was a better game than half life lmao
Massa, mas precisa do mod alpine faction pra rodar legal. Surreal como tem jogo lançado hoje em dia sem mecânicas simples que tem nesse clássico
