Don't mind my hours, as I left game on while AFK. Mild recommend. Game has charm, topics are kind of interesting and the card game itself is satisfying enough, but the further in the game you get, the more RNG elements are introduced. I've tried whittling against the final boss for about 2-3h and it's gone downhill every time. Game also doesn't let you try immediately again, as you lose progress, each time you lose there. For the price of the game, there's actually a lot of content, but I feel that the experience becomes worse, the further you get. I'm stopping here so that I don't sour my memory of the game completely. I recommend trying the demo, for the undecided.
It's a pretty fun game to play around with the combos and synergies, interspersed with some thought provoking commentary.

Despite what the game tells you, winning battles mostly comes down to luck. Since creature cards counter each other, and you play blindly into an opponent's creature it's completely random whether you would win or not. You play a card with a great ability that let's you swap a creature. The enemy plays a creature that cancels that ability and kills you. You play a strong card only to fight a card that sets its power to 0. Sometimes you will win or lose just based on one battle and then it's back to the start. Luckily, you keep your strong cards between runs cards and later on you can skip several battles, but you will still end up fighting the same battles only to lose because you got one bad pairing. It's a shame because there is SOME strategy in building your deck with synergies between creatures and using various abilities to your advantage. As for the story, the dialogues are mostly about philosophical perspectives. They are not bad, although if you lived long enough most ideas might already be familiar. Just note that you will have no option to agree or disagree and mostly you'll be a passive listener. For some reason, there is no way to save during a run, which can last 30+ minutes so once you start it, you must sit through all of it. The game also has a windowed mode, but for me it took the full screen with no option to resize. While it shows some potential, the random heavy nature of battles were not enjoyable for me, although some might still like the game due to its unique setting.
The positive
+ Deckbuilding aspect where you make a team based on synergies.
The neutral
* Windowed mode was buggy for me.
The negative
- No saving during a run. - Limited strategy as battles are too influenced by randomness. - Back to start forcing players to play the same battles over and over.
Conclusion:
While deckbulding your alien dream team is fun, the randomness limits the strategy and repetitive battles require a lot of patience. Unfortunately, Not recommended. while the game might look Cute on the surface It hides a Scary aspect with how unfair the battles can be Its Gross how many times I have lost a run because I essentially lost in RPS but even if I am being a little Weird about it I recommend you give it a try even if randomness is a Guardian that stops you from victory you will find it very satisfying to fight like a Devil and challenge it again also an Elder would know, the price is very good.
Fun card game with a interesting story. Definitely recommend the game, Especially for the price
if i had the time I'd print the cards out and play this kitchen table style. I'm having a blast
Extremely fun and unique card game here. The art style and the writing is very nice, and I have to say the actual mechanics behind Battaliens are very good! Some of the topics will blow your mind in the visual novel part of the game. Go Recesses!
