Rebellion is a souls like and roguelite action game about your revenge saga. Unfairly imprisoned, you seek to cross swords with the King again, for the last time! Escape the jail, explore the castle and it's different areas and layouts, find and recruit allies, choose to fight or sneak from enemies.

Fun little rogue-lite game. You try and escape a prison to go kill the king, finding the keys in the dungeons to rescue your men who join your party along the way. Certain sections have a lot of enemies and you will need their help. You will level up with experience along the way as you fight through enemy knights, but should you die, you lose your weapons and gained experience up to that point. You keep your money and levels though, making your next attempt that bit easier. The game map is random every time, ensuring endless re-playability. There are shops to buy weapons, and there are a couple of traps as well. Also you can co-op multiplayer. Now the cons: The game lacks a lot of polish. The game's combat tries to ape Dark Souls but ends up being floaty and spammy more than strategic. More work needed here to make the combat feel good with appropriate sound effects and to prevent the player from locking on and yet swing past an enemy. Critical backstabs and stealth works well, but the enemies can do that to you too, cutting short your game very quickly. Map replayability is nice, but it also ensures that you get hopelessly lost with each new game. It displays where items are, to cut down on frustration - but you can't scroll through parts of the map off the window. It also often shows floors above you over the top of the map, obscuring your view and it also makes it look ugly and useless in places. Additionally the random map generation sometimes places you in impossible situations from the start room (e.g. three knights and no weapons around to fight them), so some attempts are just doomed to go nowhere - which wastes the player's time. Picking items up is a pain, as you often have to tap a few times and you pick up the wrong thing when items are bunched together more often than not. Also there are glitches, particularly with your team just getting stuck. I had a large squad, and then an enemy glitched into a wall nearby. This confused my squad's AI until I could kill the enemy in the wall - and since I couldn't see him and my squad were useless - he killed me and ended my game prematurely. There needs to be a toggle to control squad AI from aggressive to passive, as my attempts at being stealthy with a backstab were often thwarted by a team member who just went in all aggro. The inventory screen is full of glitches. Support for resolutions above 1080p is also lacking and the screen display may not fit properly on your monitor. The game is also a bit short. You'll complete it in about 5 hours or less. Hard to believe that the release version has so many bugs really. The game needs a lot of work to polish up the ugly bits, but there is a fun little game here if you can deal with the initial jank. I hope it all gets fixed as my first two hours were quite entertaining. The developer seems pretty active and open to suggestions.
I really recommend this game! I've just started playing and I'm already crazy to beat this! Really looks like Dark souls, I loved the juicy backstab mechanic! ;D
vary good

MonkeyoChaos Curator Page
Cheap game review: Looking at a new cheap or free game on steam every week. Some golden nuggets, and some smelly turds, but always a good time: Gameplay/Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSfuS_Lvi9c Very repetitive fighting the same enemies over and over, and the combat isn't good enough to make that an enjoyable thing. It has some potential, there is a solid foundation here, but it needs a ton of work.
It's a simple game, but it has some interesting concepts such as being able to pick up all the weapons that the enemy drops, and the scenario that changes the layout, making it impossible to memorize each corridor. Combat works in a more direct way than dark souls, without having spells, however an interesting point is to gather a troop and then fight the enemies, it's a different and pleasant experience
This game is actually quite a bit of fun. Especially if you have a homie to remote play with its good for quite a few laughs. Absolutely worth the price.
worth it. 14,5 hours well invested!
Esse jogo é uma obra prima.
I really wanted to like this game. Looking for a nostalgic feel for some hack and slash...but what are these controls...
EDIT: I couldn't use my mouse in game, so I couldn't turn or look around. The problem was when you're in the game, the mouse sensitivity resets to 0, so you need to turn it up after you've started a game. The menu option sensitivity doesn't seem to work. I've never actually played a game that the lowest sensitivity actually turned off the mouse look, so there's that lol. I'd love to give this game a chance, but right now it's unplayable. The camera simply doesn't work. Controller or mouse, you simply cannot look around. If fundamental features aren't even working, it makes it impossible to play.
