As the commander of an immensely powerful star destroyer, you’ll battle pirates, explore anomalies, befriend aliens, scavenge battle wreckage, mine asteroids, and discover artifacts. Choose your path as a roguish do-gooder, crafty space-trader or power-hungry privateer – or maybe a little of each! Buy larger and more powerful craft with your hard-earned credits, and outfit them with a variety of wicked weapons and defenses. Set in a galaxy of fantastic sights, and secrets to be found, Rebel Galaxy is above all a space epic of adventure, exploration, and combat.
The edge of the universe is a pretty dangerous place, so watch your back.

It might be an older game, but still holds up and is well worth a try!
A fairly undemanding game that traces it's roots to the original Elite, Wing Commander Privateer and Freelancer. Developed by (I believe) a team of two devs it's an impressive achievement but if you are looking for something original this is not it. I suspect the devs suffered from the same nostalgia I did, when they made the game, and all the familiar aspects are there. A fun play.
It's a mediocre game, cheaply made, and very repetitive, but it's something to play to kill some time. I only got it because it was on sale for $2.
Ever wanted to be a naval vigilante, but in interplanetary space? This might be the game for you. Fun, broadside-focused combat on a 2-D plane, some gorgeous visuals and art design. The game is far from perfect, but it's worth the price of entry. The story is nothing revolutionary, but thankfully it's optional. You can just free roam as long as you like. And one of the best features you don't hear much about is the in-game ability to change the soundtrack to your own music collection, if the included tracks aren't your bag.

Fun, good gameplay loop, but needs a few more songs in the soundtrack (or your own playlist in the background after you've heard the same space cowboy rock song 45 times).
