Realms of Antiquity is an old school Computer roleplaying game that deserves the name. At the start of the game you make your own party out of 4 characters or a single hero to play the game. You can find new companions in the world to fill your party if you start as a single hero. It is really fun to explore the map, the puzzles are not tricky, you have to find the right clues on the map, like passwords or keys to get further into dungeons. Exploring the world gives you clues were to look. Sometimes you have to find secret passages to explore further. There is a clear goal in the game, to find you way back home to Earth. And you follow the clues all over the world to accomplish that goal. While traveling you can also do sidequests. Some of your deeds even have impact on the world around you. In one area you can dispell a curse and heal the enviroment. The tiles of this area change from purple poisened and brown dry dead earth to lush green forrest, fields and blue rivers. The fights are hard and get easier the more expierenced your party gets and the better equipment you collect. Monsters have certain weakness and you have to change your equipment to beat them. Inventory is small, you have to manage your resources like heal potions or fatique potions to get through the dungeons. The worldmap is enormous. You have a digital map to find your way. There is no automap, if you get lost, you should make your own map, or heavily rely on spells. The spell system is very robust and has a usefull spell for every situation. like trap disarm, lockpicking, monster weakness, monster control. There even is a fast travel spell to make your own markers for the return spell. Spells do not cost ingredients. It is really an excellent Crpg all in all. Thanks for reading, have a nice day.
Amazing!
Escape key is quickload folks!
创世纪味道浓重,手册内的地图非常吸引我,画面虽然复古但是做的很漂亮,就是看久了色彩饱和过高会有些伤眼,现在假大空的开放世界真的应该回头看一看
This game is a whole lot of fun. A classic, old school RPG. Top down, tile based, turn based, party based. An Ultima-like. A taste of some of the best parts of early-ish Ultima's, maybe some Magic Candle, maybe even a little hint of Tunnels of Doom (I may be reaching a bit on that one). But this game is at the same time altogether its own unique thing, with a character all of its own. This game is charming and engaging; easy to start into but a challenge too. Exploration is fun and rewarding, the story is entertaining and quirky, the world is wide and wild. I've only dipped into the early-ish parts of the game as it stands - much more ahead of me than behind me - and I'm already more than happy with it. I actually find the simple tile graphics to be a plus for me, leaving room for the brain to actually engage in imagination. The fact that this was developed to run on the TI-99/4A is a little fantastic bonus - I had that machine as a kid, and subtle things in the sounds and graphics and colors of this game give a nice little hint of bonus nostalgia. I expect to be playing this for a long while yet, and to come back to it again down the road. This has been a labor of love for the single Dev, and it shows. I'll definitely be keeping any eye out for anything more from him in the future. A fun game with plenty of character. Thumb's up!
If you are old enough to remember the Ultima series then you are old enough to sign up for an AARP membership at the old folks home. also this game is meant to look and feel like those RPG's from the late 70's early 80's so this would be the game for you ie Ultima: First Age of Darkness. i highly recommend it. i give it a "Life Alert I've fallen and can't get up Ad" out of 10
Como si Tunnels of Doom y Ultima tuviesen un hijo en la actualidad. Lo recomiendo mucho.
An engrossing open-world RPG a la Ultima, the likes of which are rarely made these days. You'll want to take notes, draw maps, and save before you try anything foolhardy. Excellent writing and a world that's genuinely fun to discover elevate it to greatness.
If you enjoyed Ultima's 3,4 and 5 you'll love this game.
This is the best Ti-99 RPG out there. If you liked Nox Archaist then I'm sure you will enjoy this also. Though it's old school. You need to keep track of your quest and things of note on a notepad. But it's very rewarding. Also it runs no problem on Linux. I haven't had one crash or bug yet. I'll update my review if I do.
