I like rats because they move
TL:DR - A great little game with huge potential, but VERY bite-size at this stage of development. Longer bit - If you, like me, long for a life of driving a teeny tiny box car as a rat and smashing that car/rat into dumpsters and telegraph poles at 80mph, then Rat Racer is for you. At the time of this review, there are three tracks with 2 racers (either you and an AI, or you and a pal), and each race is 5 laps. The Good: The aesthetics - the little engine and rat bouncing away inside that little box with chunky wheels, the mud and oil slicks and blocky pine trees are really fun to look at and give a great consistency of tone. The feel - How your car handles makes this game feel almost like a drifter, and the impact of smashing into stuff is more funny than annoying, and it really feels like you can achieve 'mastery' of each track. The sadists among us can let your poor wee driver hurl themselves against trees and rocks and cackle away. The Soundtrack - whilst limited, the tunes that thump away in the background are badass; mad props to their creators! The Not so Good: **BEAR IN MIND THAT THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS!!** The length - I feel like I've seen all Rat Racer has to offer in about 15 minutes play; but that's okay! New features are being added all the time and I look forward to seeing what else the devs can do. Things I'd like to See (super self indulgent and I'm sure the devs are working on it, sorry): The format of each race feels like a grittier Micro Machines V3 (or more recently, Toybox Turbos) and an Free or Endless mode would be awesome. Because I'm like a thousand years old - perhaps the checkpoints on each track could be a little more prominent? My fading eyes missed a few pretty often. But at the end of the day, £2 got me an early title that made me laugh and look forward to its progress. So just go and support these guys. Skip your Starbucks and bring home a rat. In a box. Then smash that box into a tree.

Peak rat experience, can't wait for you to add more of them. Saw your poster on a balcony, keep it there, it's amazing, thx
A charming little racer. Better than any of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ called Barro.
rats are cool
buenardo, le veo futuro
The game is hilarious but usually when you finish a lap you don't get a point for it. Needs to be improved. Online multiplayer isn't listed as something the developer is going for but I hope they change their mind and include it if they can.
I WANTED TO LIVE THE REAL LIFE OF A RAT SO I GOT THIS AND BOUGHT A BUNCH OF REALLY PUNGENT CHEESE AND ATE IT WHILE PLAYING AND HAD A PRETTY SICK CHEESE STEAMER BUT THE GAME IS REALLY FUN AND THE PHYSICS MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A REAL RAT. GO AHEAD AND GET YOURSELF SOME CHEESE TO EAT WHILE PLAYING TOO. REAL SOFT OR REAL HARD - WHATEVER GIVES YOU THE BEST CHANCE OF A CHEESE STEAMER.
I have played this game for 5 minutes and I already know this is a must have for every pro gamer.
