Fun gameplay when you play with your friends.
Rampage Knights: A Masterclass in Beat-'em-up Chaos and Roguelite Fun
Rampage Knights is an absolute masterpiece of high-energy arcade action, masterfully fusing the classic, crunchy feel of side-scrolling beat-'em-ups with the endless replayability of a modern roguelite. Developed by Rake in Grass, this game is a relentless, hilarious, and pulse-pounding joyride from start to finish. Whether you are tackling its brutal dungeons completely solo or diving into the madness with a friend in co-op, it delivers a flawless, dopamine-fueled gameplay loop that earns a well-deserved, perfect 10/10.
⚔️ Crunch-Heavy Combat and Insane Character Builds
The combat in Rampage Knights feels incredibly weighty, responsive, and satisfying. You hack, slash, throw, and smash your way through hordes of enemies, utilizing a deep combo system that rewards aggressive play. What elevates every single run into pure chaos is the massive variety of randomized loot, magic spells, and permanent curses. You can end up as a giant, armored barbarian wielding a cursed demon blade, or a floating mage accidentally turning enemies into explosive sheep. The sheer unpredictability of your build makes every run an exciting gamble.
🤝 Phenomenal Co-op and Solo Balance
While the game functions beautifully as a challenging, tight single-player experience, playing it in co-op with a friend is where it transforms into an unforgettable riot. The cooperative dynamic is frantic, loud, and endlessly funny. Trying to coordinate your ultimate abilities while dodging friendly fire, sharing rare potions, or carrying your fallen comrade’s ghost to the next room creates incredible gaming memories. It is the ultimate "couch co-op" spirit brought to PC, forcing you to laugh through even the most devastating defeats.
🎨 Quirky Art Style and Infinite Replayability
Visually, the game charms with its bold, cartoonish, and heavily stylized art direction that perfectly complements its irreverent, dark humor. The enemy variety is fantastic, ranging from clumsy goblins to giant, screen-filling bosses that require actual strategy to defeat. With multiple unlockable character classes—each with completely unique playstyles—varying difficulty tiers, and a brilliant progression system, the game offers hundreds of hours of high-quality entertainment. It simply never gets old.
⚠️ Drawbacks
It is genuinely difficult to find flaws in a package this polished and fun. However, because it relies on traditional roguelite RNG, a streak of terrible loot drops can occasionally make a run feel uphill and unforgiving. The difficulty can also spike quite aggressively during later stages, demanding precise dodging and quick reflexes. But if your biggest complaint is that a hardcore arcade game is actually challenging, it's doing everything exactly right.
🏆 Conclusion
Rampage Knights is an absolute triumph that perfectly captures the pure, unadulterated soul of classic arcade gaming. It takes the best elements of brawlers and roguelites, injects them with a massive dose of humor, and wraps it in a package that is impossible to put down. For anyone who loves frantic combat, hilarious item synergies, and top-tier cooperative multiplayer, this game is a mandatory purchase. An underappreciated indie titan that hits a flawless maximum score.
Rating: 10/10
One of the best rouge likes out there. It's humorous, challenging, and always good fun. I highly recommend it.
Офигенчиком весело вкооп на одном экране зарубиться!
It's quite a fun time with friends- during the 3am 'We should've gone to bed but maybe one more run' type of way.
I didn’t have any expectations going into Rampage Knights. Sure you can tell it’s a final fight kind of roguelike that supports co-op, but you can’t tell a game’s balance, breath of options and mechanics based on footage. This game excels heavily at bringing fun gameplay through varied tools (magic, equipment, items and scrolls) that change runs, tons of enemies that behave differently, controls that are snappy, lots of modes, achievements that reward the player with stat increases or cosmetics and so much more. You would think the game is mindless but there is lots of strategy and thinking involved too, especially in co-op. You have limited space to take items with you and you can only equip one armor type at a time. Only one player can pick up stuff, so you have to share and coordinate who gets what. You also have to be mindful of not negatively affecting your co-op partner based on the magic you use etc. The game starts a bit challenging but you get rewarded for improving and learning how things work. The game is quite fair for a roguelike from 2015, the bullsh*t is spared for the most part. However, it’s still a roguelike. There will still be rooms with very bad conditions, this is severe in endless mode where you have to reach level 25 and defeat a boss to get an achievement. It hurts when you lose progress so easily and you have to start from the beginning because of RNG. Regardless of that one flaw, the game is fantastic and ought to be played by anyone interested in that type of game. It’s fun alone but it’s better in co-op. I’ve put 69 hours in the game and got all the achievements except for the endless mode one. The normal price of €12,79 is super worth it, no questions asked. There are too many different achievements, some involve doing specific things, completing the different modes/difficulties and there are RNG achievements too. For the most part they are doable but you’re going to be investing some time.
Awesome game! Totally casual, hilarious and challenging. Highly replayable. Because of all the random items and effects they have, each (attempted) playthrough feels different. Several different characters are available to play. Each with pros and cons so you have some flexibility with how you like to play as well. Has a regular game mode and several different challenge modes as well. Co-op friendly.
