About
You are a slugcat. The world around you is full of danger, and you must face it – alone. Separated from your family in a devastating flood, you will need to find food and shelter between terrifying torrential downpours which threaten to drown all life. Climb through the ruins of an ancient civilization, evade the jaws of vicious predators, and discover new lands teeming with strange creatures and buried mysteries. Find your family before something makes a meal of you!
Inspired by the simplicity and aesthetics of 16-bit classics, this survival platformer requires clever decision-making, both to catch your own prey and to avoid the jaws of hungry predators. Each ravenous foe in your path will be cunning, vicious and always on the hunt – eager to sink their teeth into you, or even each other. As a small, soft slugcat you must rely on stealth and wit rather than force: learn the ecosystem and turn their strengths to your advantage. Maybe then you can survive… Rain World!

cutscene, spawn in, basic tutorial, THATS IT, creature. KILLS YOU. avoid creature, make sure to find weapons.
This game has some of the most memorable moments in gaming history. The climb up (or down) five pebble's exterior never gets old. The same goes for the swim across the shoreline's vast stretches of unending ocean, the silent chorus of trickling legs and sparse lights of the shaded citadel, even the simple hums and alien fauna that appear on your journey can spark a trance of awe in new and old players. The tonal shifts when encountering echoes and iterators breaks the tension of the platforming hell you experience to get there. This game does a great job in creating these moments where you just feel lost in the ecosystems and environments you come across, coupled together with the score that makes every new location visited feel like a relic lost to time and rebuilt over the eons of silence and evolution. The Downpour dlc does a great job on expanding the lore and having your player character replay history and feel like a part of it, or look into the future and see how the civilizations of old fell (Imma pretend Watcher ain't real T-T). Sometimes the best things in life are slow and require patience, patience that today's modern day stamps out like a disgusting maggot at the wrong place at the wrong time. To truly feel that nirvana, that strange peace that comes whenever all else falls silent, you need an experience like this. A game designed to get lost in: 10/10.
