You are a slugcat. The world around you is full of danger, and you must face it – alone. Separated from your family in a devastating flood, you will need to find food and shelter between terrifying torrential downpours which threaten to drown all life. Climb through the ruins of an ancient civilization, evade the jaws of vicious predators, and discover new lands teeming with strange creatures and buried mysteries. Inspired by the simplicity and aesthetics of 16-bit classics, this survival platformer requires clever decision-making, both to catch your own prey and to avoid the jaws of hungry predators. Each ravenous foe in your path will be cunning, vicious and always on the hunt – eager to sink their teeth into you, or even each other. As a small, soft slugcat you must rely on stealth and wit rather than force: learn the ecosystem and turn their strengths to your advantage. Maybe then you can survive… Rain World!

It's an amazing game and I'd reccomend it for most players but its definetely not for everyone. you should actually give it a chance though before deciding you hate it, most negative reviews ive seen have >1 hours playtime and the game can be hard to understand with such a low amount of time to experiment. one of said reviews mistook karma levels for a typical video game leveling system, for example. You should definetely complete the main game as survivor or at least monk BEFORE buying any DLC, most DLC content is locked until you've beaten a vanilla campaign. I think downpour DLC's extra remix mod might have a cheat option in case of this, but you should still get to know the vanilla game before spending anything on a DLC. The watcher DLC also doesn't have as easy to grasp of an explanation and you WILL feel lost. I like that one, though. I would talk about the things I appreciate about this game, but theres too much for me to say and if I try to explain a fraction of the lore it's gonna turn into a thousand page essay so instead I just wanted to write a short(er) review making sure people know to understand the game and complete it before getting a DLC. P.S. the ecosystem in a nutshell is australia on crack. 10/10
