Raging Justice feels like a 90s action movie, and looks like it, too. The art reminds me heavily on Age of Barbarians, with that pre-rendered characters, and kind of stiff animation, that gives it a grat B-movie vibe. Some things I like the most: + Great graphics, especially if you like the look + good combat mechanics that have to be mastered + great variety of enemies and locations + a nice twist: if you arrest enemies instead of beating them unconscious, you get some health back The only thing slightly feels not so well is the weapons, which are way too few, and if you have one, it breaks after one unsatisfying blow. But instead: you can use a tractor, and thats a perfect alternative :)

This games was clearly inspired by streets of rage. And that is not a bad thing. Graphics and sound are decent and the gameplay will keep you busy for some hours. This is ofcourse best when you play this together with someone else. It's a lot of very simple fun! RECOMMENDED!

Raging Justice is a modern throwback to the golden age of arcade beat-’em-ups, built with a clear love for the genre’s raw energy, exaggerated violence, and straightforward sense of purpose. Developed by MakinGames Ltd and published by Team17 Digital Ltd, the game positions itself firmly as a street-level brawler where crime has spiraled out of control and only relentless fists, improvised weapons, and a heavy dose of vigilante justice can restore order. It does not attempt to reinvent the genre, but instead focuses on refining familiar mechanics and injecting them with a few distinctive twists that give the experience its own personality. At its core, Raging Justice delivers classic side-scrolling combat that emphasizes momentum and crowd control. Players choose from a small roster of characters, each with slightly different stats and attack styles, and wade into waves of criminals using punches, kicks, grabs, throws, and environmental attacks. The controls are responsive and immediate, encouraging aggressive play and quick reactions. Combos are simple rather than technical, but they feel weighty, especially when chaining strikes into grabs or tossing enemies into one another or into hazards scattered across the stage. One of the game’s more interesting additions to the traditional formula is the arrest mechanic. Instead of killing every enemy outright, players can subdue stunned foes and cuff them, earning health bonuses and fulfilling optional stage objectives. This creates a subtle risk-reward decision during combat: go for the safer, brutal approach of eliminating threats quickly, or slow down slightly to secure arrests and gain long-term advantages. While the mechanic doesn’t radically change how the game is played, it adds a layer of tactical choice that rewards situational awareness rather than pure button-mashing. Weapons play a major role in shaping the game’s chaotic tone. Almost anything can become a tool of destruction, from chairs and bats to knives, firearms, and even large vehicles that temporarily turn the screen into a rolling disaster zone. These moments of excess are where Raging Justice leans hardest into its arcade roots, offering brief power fantasies that let players tear through enemies with reckless abandon. Weapon use is intentionally unbalanced and fleeting, reinforcing the idea that control is temporary and danger is always close at hand. Visually, the game adopts a stylized pre-rendered 3D look rather than traditional pixel art, evoking the transitional era between sprite-based and polygonal graphics. This choice gives Raging Justice a distinct identity, though it can feel awkward compared to the crisp clarity of hand-drawn sprites. Character models and animations are exaggerated and sometimes stiff, but they effectively convey impact and brutality. The environments are gritty and exaggerated, presenting a cartoonish version of urban decay that fits the game’s over-the-top tone even if it lacks fine detail. Level structure is intentionally straightforward. Stages unfold linearly, punctuated by enemy waves, environmental hazards, and climactic boss fights that test patience as much as skill. Difficulty can spike sharply, particularly during boss encounters where enemy damage output feels tuned to arcade sensibilities rather than modern accessibility. This can lead to frustration for solo players, but it also reinforces the game’s old-school identity, where perseverance and pattern learning are part of the experience. Co-op play is where Raging Justice truly comes alive. Local multiplayer transforms the game into a chaotic, laughter-filled brawl that recalls classic couch co-op experiences. Fighting alongside a friend amplifies both the fun and the disorder, especially when friendly fire is enabled and mistakes become part of the spectacle. Coordination becomes important on higher difficulties, and shared survival against overwhelming odds captures the spirit of arcade teamwork that defined the genre’s heyday. Replayability is supported through scoring systems, stage challenges, and leaderboards that encourage players to revisit levels and optimize performance. Arrest objectives, difficulty settings, and character selection offer reasons to replay beyond simply finishing the campaign. While the content itself is not expansive, these systems help stretch the experience for players who enjoy mastering mechanics and chasing high scores. Ultimately, Raging Justice succeeds as a passionate homage rather than a genre-defining reinvention. Its combat is satisfying, its co-op is energetic, and its arrest mechanic adds just enough novelty to distinguish it from countless other retro-inspired brawlers. At the same time, its divisive visual style, punishing difficulty spikes, and repetitive structure may limit its appeal outside of dedicated beat-’em-up fans. For players who grew up feeding coins into arcade cabinets or who simply enjoy unfiltered, side-scrolling mayhem with a friend at their side, Raging Justice delivers a loud, messy, and often enjoyable return to street-level justice. Rating: 7/10
