About
Drift into a world that has already ended, and find the beauty that remains.
Quiet as a Stone is a slow-paced, atmospheric toy designed for those who wish to curate moments of stillness.
Set against a backdrop of autumnal twilight and ancient history, you will explore small, procedural dioramas. From the moss on a fallen pillar to the crackle of a campfire, every element is yours to manipulate, photograph, and contemplate.
Observe: Watch the day turn to night, the weather shift from a crisp morning to rolling fog, the light casts across weathered stone, rain falls and the petrichor rises.
Interact: Click to slash through overgrowth, mine ancient stones for magic gems, and discover hidden artifacts. There is no rush. The stones have waited centuries; they can wait for you.
Create: Use your gathered gems to place trees, ruins, and foliage. Transform a barren rock into a shrine. Create, Photograph then let go.
A Digital Canvas: A hybrid of landscape gardening and 3D diorama building. No grids, no strict rules—just organic placement of rocks, ruins, and trees.
Generative Atmosphere: A dynamic, realistic audioscape that reacts to your scene, perfect for relaxation or focus.
The Photographer’s Eye: A robust Photo Mode with controls for aperture, exposure, color grading, and filters. Capture your vignette before it fades forever.
The Cycle of Impermanence: There is no management or pressure. You visit a location, capture its beauty, and move on to the next discovery.
Subdued Aesthetics: A visual palette of ochre, olive, orange and slate. The ambience of autumn.
Play this if: You love taking screenshots in games, you enjoy the sound of rain against a window, or you are looking for a low-stress "second monitor" experience to help you unwind.
Look elsewhere if: You are seeking a complex city-builder, strategy, action, or a traditional "Clicker" with exponential math progression.

A zen sandbox builder. Create a floating island landscape with a relaxing visual and audio ambiance, take pictures of your completed creation. There are no saving, and each instance is totally random. Some islands are 'meh' and don't have much to build with, but if you're lucky enough to find yourself with a grass stone (cutting down grass has random drops of building items) your palette is endless. Think along the lines of an HD Etch-A-Sketch but random fantasy-themed elements.
As someone who enjoys nature, I was starting to get into this game. I knew it was minimalist and I have enjoyed uncovering the features and playable options one by one. What is BEWILDERING to me is why the developer would not have some way to save progress. With Islanders for example, while you cannot save each game you can at least leave your current progress and resume later. I think the developer somehow thinks that all players should have the mindset to sit down and play this game for a long time, designing something beautiful then start over. Developer: I am not that user. I am a working family dad who needs to start/stop games because I have chunks of time to spend on a game... not hours. I love all things 'builder' in games. I absolutely -depend- on 'resuming' creative games where I work on a thing 30 min here/45 min there. I have a Cities Skylines save that has taken months 30-45 min at a time but looks AMAZING. I like this game - however, while beautiful it is the ONLY game in recent memory that does not have any sort of save or at LEAST pause/continue. What were they thinking???!?!
It's ok. If you have nothing better to do and just want to waste a little creative time. No real satisfaction with the exception of a possible wallpaper background. It does get a little boring after 30mins and controls are not straight forward. But it is ok.
I love any 'game' where I'm free to discover what I can do at my own pace and in my own time. Quiet as a Stone puts me in mind of something like Cloud Gardens, another favorite. Both titles aren't so much games as they are experiences which ask you to relax and take a deep breath, to be willing to indulge your creative side, and to simply spend some time in these beautiful little worlds. This is such a serene experience, and somehow gives one the feeling that you're engaged in making art of some sort. It's peaceful, pretty, melancholy, and a wonderful way to get back to yourself and calm yourself after you've had a long day that maybe wasn't as good as it could have been. I genuinely love this game a ton and I rec it to everyone I know. It's funny--there are apps out there like Calm or Headspace which are meant to relax you and get you in a meditative frame of mind, and they're okay for a lot of people, I'm not knocking them. Speaking just for myself, I'd much rather have an hour and a half or two spent in this world, leisurely rearranging my rocks and trees, planting grass, smashing and collecting my gems, looking at the fire, and taking some pretty pictures. The time and money imo is so much better spent. Honest, I love it. It's tough to say anything else.
The game is well done and though super simple and even limited in the actual gameplay (can't save maps you've developed, no!real goal other than just clearing the landscape searching for magical stones). But despite the games limitations, it's easy gameplay and simplicity are actually addicting. Tried it for the first time today and when I'd stopped it was 3 hours later! LOL Only three downfalls I see are that you can't save maps, can't create a map from scratch, and there needs to be a gamma control as the game is predominently dark and its difficult to see the landscape clearly. Hopefully the developer will add some updates. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing experience that only costs pennies.
